2024-06-11 (Tuesday) — She’s Running!!!

(written mostly morning of the 12th)

My schedule is so messed up. 🙃

Because I’m often doing JustAnswer work late at night, I don’t end up waking up until around 11:00 or noon. I didn’t go to bed last night until after 6:00 in the morning. 😆

I’ve been killing it with JustAnswer still, though. Since they started the weeklong phone call bonus on Saturday, earning eight extra dollars per phone call answered, it’s been fantastic.

I’ve gone from being behind my pace for last month to being I think quite a bit ahead of it. 🥳

I usually have a movie or Star Trek or something playing on YouTube in the background while I answer questions, pausing as needed when I actually make the phone calls. Phone calls last anywhere from 2 minutes to sometimes close to an hour. Phone calls from zero to 10 minutes are worth a certain amount, and then phone calls longer than 10 minutes are worth a little more, but the long long calls don’t earn you anything more than an 11-minute call does.

I certainly don’t complain when a customer is a little bit of a wind bag in their explanations for things because oftentimes that gets me over the 10-minute hump so I get the extra $8 per call for being over 10 minutes. 🙃

Although when I have wind bag customers, and they make the calls go 45 minutes, then I’m not as happy. 😆

Things have really been good though the last couple days, money wise. I’ve been tearing it up, and that feels pretty good.

Sometimes it’s hard to tear myself away from it, even though I can’t really say that I enjoy it, but it’s hard to choose to ignore questions that pop up that I know that I can answer. There’s a part of me that has a mild compulsion/drive that if there’s an opportunity, then I need to take it.

Anyway, lots of JustAnswer since my last post. Lots of working on my skid steer. Been chatting with Liz and trying to help her with things that are burying her. Chatting with Jim and Family and trying to help them.

Anyway, So after having a dream where I was in one of the Star Trek Voyager episodes 🙃, I woke up around 11:00 or 11:30, and I spent the next 5 hours or so just answering JustAnswer questions.

Then I went back up the hill, back up to the skid steer for round 3,706, hoping to finally get it going.

I ran the excavator for a bit, and then added more fluid, and then ran it for a bit more, and then added more fluid. Took a long time to get it full, or at least to get it what I thought was full. 😅

After finally getting it running, I went over and got most of the wood chips That I dumped in Liz’s yard over into the dog run.

Then I spent a good little while scraping all the gravel and road base off of Liz’s grass that had washed onto it.

From there, I decided to go down into the pond and Get the rock that was down there. I’m rebuilding the speed bump in between Jim’s and Liz’s places. The skid steer died last time just as I had made a small speed bump with a large drop off that anybody who drove over on lower sitting vehicle would crunch against. 😅

But I scraped it down a little bit to make it not as tall, and I went and gathered up the majority of what had washed all the way down into the pond, bringing it back and dumping it in a big pile next to the speed bump.

I also noticed that there was some pretty decent more reddish-colored dirt where the gravel had washed, so I decided to scoop that up, because it would make a good base for the speed bump. So I made a gravel pile on one side and a dirt pile on the other. So now I’m ready to redo that speed bump and make it really nice.

🤞

I want to make it like the one at the top of our driveway. I made that one like 7 years ago, and I don’t think I’ve ever really had to do much of anything to keep that one in good shape. Of course, that one is also the one that takes the least abuse from the rain, I think 🙃, but still… it was my most well built speed bump that I took a lot of time to build.

I went over to Jim and Steph’s and chatted with Landon and Eleanor for a bit. Then I helped Jim fix the upstairs bathroom tub faucet. It was giving him the same kind of grief that my projects tend to give me. 😅

What should have taken 10 seconds took probably an hour? Fortunately, I had the tools available that made it able to be completed, so that was good.

From there, I sat outside and chatted with Steph and Eleanor about life and what not, helping Eleanor weed one of the grow boxes as we chatted.

Good stuff.

I’m grateful to have a wonderful Hill family. 😊
