2024-06-25 (Tuesday) — More Moving

(written on the 28th)

My memory is spotty.

Chatted for a good little while with Landon when he came to bring my gas can back.

I went back to Jenna’s/Steve’s house, loaded up Mom’s porch swing, her garden table and chairs, and the rest of the garden swing onto a trailer.

I also loaded up a bunch of other stuff.

With my mom at camp, she wasn’t there to tell me where to put the stuff when I brought it, so I drove it over and just made executive decisions on where I felt it might be good to have the stuff.

I put the porch rocking bench on the porch. 🙃

I put the patio chairs and table underneath a tree overlooking the little hobby garden, which is basically just a grow box. A bit of a change going from 14 large grow boxes to one.

Then I put the swing on the edge of the property overlooking a creek and field In the field below.

What else…

I got my address changed. At least to have my banking in mail and whatever else stuff sent over to Liz’s house for the time being I wish I could just have nothing but electronic everything so that I wouldn’t have to worry about where I am.

I think I spent some time working out by the greenhouse trying to clean stuff up, working on digging out the huge sycamore stump.

Mowed a little bit more of the weeds down, trimmed the vegetation back where the old path went down to the creek and the old bridge that crossed the creek. That bridge long since washed away.

A little easier now to access the creek to take a bath without all the weeds and branches in the way. 😊

Pretty sure I had a sort of dinner with Jim and Steph and family. I think it was just watermelon, though, because it’s harder for me to eat when I’ve been working out in the heat all day.

Jim had cut more hay in an effort to get it dried and baled and picked up before tomorrow morning’s rainstorm. Gratefully, the hot weather had dried out the hay really quickly, and gratefully Rhett and Risa helped us load it all up from the fields and then unload it in the barn.

It was dark by the time I got back to my little temporary staging area by the greenhouse, but I had stuff strewn around everywhere that it needed to be protected from the rain. Fortunately, I had a couple of tarps, large tarps, that I was able to stretch out over the two major piles of stuff, so I stretched tarps, added weights to hold them down, and called it a night.

I’m sure there is plenty I’m forgetting.

Oh well. Poison ivy on random places. Bug bites galore, but gratefully, despite being very sensitive to the touch And very sensitive to heat, My sunburn is a little more than a nuisance right now.

Found out That one of my brothers is going on a road trip soon, so I bought them a pack of brain teaser puzzles. Hopefully that’ll help the drive. 😊

And Landon has been driving around and doing all his outside work with just a Small towel on the top of his head, so I bought him one of those Safari type hats with the wider brim top and the neck covering. I’ve got a couple of them myself and use them when I’m working outside… At least, when I’m not being stupid. 😅
