Gratefully, When the day dawned, I found that for the most part, everything had remained covered by the tarps during the storm. It wasn’t a particularly major storm, but we did get some strong wind that rocked my van pretty good, knocked over the storage cupboards from the garage that I had stood up next to the greenhouse, and He probably dropped a half an inch of rain, or so.
We haven’t had rain in a good long while, so it was good to get rain. The fields are dry. That’s good for when you need to cut and dry and bale, But not so good the fields and forests themselves.
Gratefully, with the storm, the day was significantly cooler. I wouldn’t say it was cool by any stretch of the imagination. Still hot and sweaty, but much much much less so.
I’m struggling.
The continual living at the end of my rope is killing me. I’ve run out of steam, folks. Life is miserable for me right now and just seems so pointless anyway.
The NeverEnding Moving saga isn’t helping. 😅
I’d be done faster if I weren’t also distracted helping with other things here on the property, but I want to help here on the property as well…
Anyway, more moving effort. I got the t-post puller from Mike, and I pulled up all the t posts. I loaded up a bunch more stuff as well.
So. Much. Stuff.
It makes all the sense in the world to have it because of the life that’s been lived here. We live on a farm. There’s a lot to take care of. There’s a lot that’s needed to take care of everything. Needs change over time, requiring different tools and things and stuff. You keep it all because it’s not smart to just get rid of it when there’s no need to get rid of it and there’s the possible need to use it again in the future.
A lot of things get reused in the future.
But when you’re leaving, you end up with a massive amount of stuff.
Got the parts to try and fix my van doors today. Was able to kind of fix the rear door. I repaired both cables. All four cable ends had rotted away where the plastic was. The replacement parts were metal, so they should last until the cables themselves break.
It was a pain in the butt job, and I ended up accidentally breaking the power lock assembly. So the power locks no longer work on the rear hatch. They work for everything else, but not the rear hatch.
At least the door opens.
Two steps forward one step back, at least in this case.
Was able to get the kitchen table and chairs sold for Mom. Nice little Latino couple from Michoacan, Mexico.
Burned out. Life tired.
Spent.
I don’t remember much from today. I don’t care to really even try to remember. Sorry.
Pretty sure I ate dinner with Liz and company.
I went to the grocery store before bed.
I started a little fire before bad, hoping to burn down stuff a little bit. Fires always take longer than you expect them to.
And all my buckets are melted. Well, I’ll accept one. I had one bucket that didn’t melt, and so After taking a bath, I went to fill the bucket up with water, but it was so brittle from having been outside for so many years that it just broke. I was able to get it maybe 40% full maybe half full, and I was able to douse the fire a little bit.
Spent.
