I was up until like 4:00 something in the morning, I think. You too. I think I watched the movie Bucket List.
Really liked that one. Made me cry.
Inspiring.
Found one brown recluse in the traps this morning, but I can’t guarantee that it hasn’t been there for a long time. It was on the trap that I can’t see the far Edge as well as I can others because it’s on the windshield right where the windshield meets the dashboard. So there was both a fly and a brown recluse stuck in it. If I had the gas come I think the recluse had been there for several days, Pat I’ll count it as today because today’s the first day that I saw it. So the streak ends at 3.
But I’m still not really concerned.
I tried to sleep in because I hadn’t gotten much sleep, but my body decided that it was fine, so I got up. I’m sure I’ve probably mentioned it multiple times before, but I need less sleep when I go to bed late and then just wake up when my body wakes me up.
When I go to bed early and get up early, I’m often groggy.
It did indeed rain overnight. I think probably maybe somewhere around 3/4 of an inch? With everything wet, even though it was not raining, I wasn’t quite up for working on my truck again.
And apparently, I wasn’t up for working for JustAnswer either, because I didn’t do that all day. π
I really need to do that.
I spent time cleaning up the mess I made with the woods, The trees and branches and what not that got scorched when the Little fire I started got a heck of a lot bigger when it hit a patch of dead vines and shot up 30+ feet into the oak tree. The leaves on probably 40% of the tree are dead and brown now. π Same with a few other smaller trees, only on some of them it’s 100% or near 100%.
They might not make it. π
We’ll find out next year.
But I cut and cleaned and whatnot.
I worked on sorting things. I got everything out of the shed and into ET, or nearly everything. There are two metal shelves that I’ve left in there still, but all the stuff itself is out.
The 17% chance of rain turned into a downpour, and we got probably another inch of rain. I haven’t checked yet, as after getting a good bit soaked enjoying the rain a little bit, I spent the rest of the day inside either my Civic or Rover playing on YouTube. I also realized that hooking up the USB charger reduces reception ability.
Really?!?!?!
Don’t know if that’s just a quirk of the Google Pixel 7 pro, or what. But phones don’t come with headphone Jacks anymore, at least the expensive ones don’t because everybody wants their Bluetooth earpieces. I just don’t like having stuff that emits radiation in my ears. π
I pretty much never hold my phone to my head anyway because after a while, my head feels all hot on that side, And sometimes starts to hurt a little bit. Haven’t held my phone to my head for years except randomly here and there if it’s really loud where I am.
Anyway, not much to report. I didn’t get much done today, in any capacity. There was a little while that I felt a good bit better, though. More grounded.
Focusing a little more on love, trying to act out of love, trying to be love. What would pure love do in x circumstance? Take away everything else… what would pure love want for x person.
I started thinking a lot more about the non-profit stuff as well.
The rain put a damper on a lot of that, though I did love it. I got distracted, I think. Started wasting time on YouTube again. π
And funny, even though the high was in the mid-70s, I think, the humidity was such that it wasn’t very pleasant at all. π I will take the low ’80s from yesterday over the mid-70s from today, just because the humidity was so thick.
Where do I want to live?
(sigh)
A question I never pictured answering alone. I always thought it was a decision to be made between myself and my spouse. But since I have no spouse… and for the foreseeable, doesn’t look like I will, then I guess I had better make that decision. I was hoping to find my forever home, but I guess… blessed are the flexible, for they shall not be bent out of shape.
- I’m grateful for beautiful rainstorms
- I’m grateful to have gotten everything cleaned out of the shed.
- I’m grateful that I heard from Jim where he wants me to put the shed that I’m donating to the Hill.
- I’m grateful that I was able to make a little bit of progress on cleaning up the woods.
- I’m grateful that I figured out that my reception issue is when I have my phone plugged into charge. As soon as I plug it in, my bandwidth/reception goes down significantly.
- I’m grateful that since beginning to use duct tape, the number of ticks that I’ve dealt with has significantly gone down, at least as far as those that I have to watch out for getting where they ought not to be. I generally don’t bother checking much during the day now, just before I go to bed. And if I inspect the duct tape around my ankles thoroughly, I usually find multiple ticks stuck in The tape. Were I going to stay here on Haven Hill, then I would put a chicken coop down here and let them run free and eat whatever they wanted. That would certainly massively reduce the tick population.
