(written on the 10th)
Had a guy come over this morning to take a look at the shelves I had for sale in Loaf. He looked at them, and decided against them, but he decided he would like to have the shelves and a pull-out drawer that were in my 2010 ford, so I sold them to him for a hundred bucks.
While he disassembled stuff, I worked on taking the shelves out of loaf. I also cut the catalytic converter off to sell that separately, but it was completely hollow, so… They aren’t going to spend any money for a hollow catalytic converter. 🙃
I chatted with the gentleman who bought the shelves for a good little while. He looked very much like what some people probably think of when they think of Arkansas.
His name was Snuffy. Super nice guy.
We talked about all sorts of things, mostly about homesteading and ways of building on the cheap.
After he left, I kept working on taking stuff off of Loaf.
Did I mention that I was looking through a journal entry from last year and saw that I had named the van Loaf last year as well?
😆
Funny.
Apparently, that’s its name, as I came up with the same name twice a year apart.
Well, after pulling the shelves out, pulling some other stuff off, including the front brake calipers and rotor/hub assemblies, A put Rover down on wood blocks on my trailer, hooked up the front end of it with a chain to my trailer, and dragged it carefully, mostly on a side road, to the metal recycling place where I was pleasantly surprised with $240 in cash for the scrap.
I didn’t think I’d get that much, but I will definitely take it!
In my assets My personal financial spreadsheet, I had that vehicle listed in my assets as being worth $300, so $240 after taking off probably $1,000 worth of parts, again, I’ll take it.
After coming back, I got burn permits and started burning the burn pile That’s between where I park Rover and the greenhouse.
That went up really quickly, huge ball of fire, and super high. I was worried for a little while that it might get so hot that it could start the shed on fire or something like that, but no, it wouldn’t. It just got really hot really quickly and really large really quickly because of all the dried leaves that were part of it.
I started cleaning things up on the home front a little bit. Between disassembling loaf and painting Rover, I’ve got crap everywhere again. 😅
Since I was already burning, I spent time gathering up other Deadwood to add to the burn pile, both to burn it up as well, as well as to help some of the other stuff catch fire, is there were lots of larger logs spaced a little ways apart that I was a little concerned might not stay on fire without additional assistance.
Fortunately, I was able to keep the fire going and get everything burned. Periodically, I would go over and shuffle the logs around to keep them going and to consolidate.
Normal fire stuff.
I wanted to leave, but after having that one start a little mini fire, I stayed to watch.
I don’t really remember what else I did. I think I worked on Tax stuff and online errands and stuff.
I saw an article in the news about some guy making a whole lot of money working for JustAnswer as a mechanic.
I can see how he could make that kind of money, as the article said he’s working like 7 the hours a week. 10 hours a day 7 days a week.
Going to the grocery store later after the fire died down. Bought comfort food like it seems like I always buy.
I’m in bad shape. 😅
Mentally and emotionally, I mean.
I guess physically I’m in bad shape as well. I look healthy/in shape, but my body is screwed up and hurting all the time, and all the comfort food doesn’t help, I’m sure.
Nice to have Loaf gone. 🎉
Did drilling surgery on my finger again. Less blood this time… less improvement with the surgery…
I know I’m missing stuff from the day…
🤷
