I don’t know if I have it.
I’m just exhausted. Life exhausted.
Maybe the cycle actually does end here because there’s just nothing left of me to really do anything other than just physically exist.
I’m just… exhausted.
Don’t really have anything to say today. Another struggling, painful night. Spine and nerve issues, as always. My nerve issues are head to foot.
π
Oh, and a tick managed to make its way on me and hang out with me all night, biting me in multiple places in my nether regions. It must have bit me in the middle of the night, and I scratched, so it moved and bit again, and I scratched, and it moved and bit again, as I’ve got several tick bites, but only one tick.
Punk.
Didn’t really leave my van until probably somewhere between 10:30 and noon, other than to go to the bathroom.
I ate breakfast. I made an appointment with Doctor George Deimel for November 7th. He’s got fantastic reviews.
Hopefully, it’ll be good. π€
I bought starlink mini mobile (After fighting with my credit card company who decided to decline the purchase and lock my credit card until I got in touch with them. Which turned out to be a big pain in the butt because they’re automated system wasn’t working properly, and it wouldn’t give me any option to actually talk to a live person.
So I tried the automated system like three or four times before getting quite frustrated and giving up . Not sure exactly how it happened, because there wasn’t any option for it, but I managed to somehow end up talking to an actual person. There was no menu, and it took the second or third try of just pressing all sorts of buttons on my phone before it actually transferred me to somebody.
Anyway, got that taken care of
As for starlink, buying the mini mobile system is a little pricey, but I don’t think I really need that much data, So it’s a $600 dish, but it’s only $50 a month for the internet itself. And with the mini dish, it’s got a built-in router, and it’s low power, so I don’t have to deal with more complicated setups and power strips and all that other junk , and I don’t have to worry about trying to figure out where to put the really big Dish, And it uses about half the power or a third the power of what the standard dish uses, so, even better for road tripping.
And it can fit in a backpack. π
Hello, New Zealand!!! π
So my first month, after tax and shipping and everything will be $715 π³πΆπ³
and then $50 a month after that.
If the road trip lasts for 2 months worth of bills, then it will almost be a wash when compared to the standard dish.
Mini mobile allows me to have internet driving down the freeway in the middle of nowhere, which should pay for itself very quickly because it will allow me to work for JustAnswer, even in places where there’s normally no cell phone reception at all.
The regular dish provides a stronger signal and often faster internet, but the $50 a month plan isn’t available with that one, so with the standard dish on sale for $300 right now, then $150 a month, after 3 or 4 months, I’m already just about at the same price as the mini dish with the roam plan.
We’ll see.
I might regret it, but with the size and simplicity and everything… and even the speeds being lower than the standard dish, heck, they’re still way faster than what we had at home that worked just fine for all my needs. π
Let’s see… Mike came down wanting to borrow my mini excavator, and I showed him what I’ve been doing with the creek.
In preparation for him wanting to use the excavator, I wanted to double-check the grease fittings, as I remembered that I had an extra grease fitting sitting in my Civic, which meant that there was a missing grease fitting somewhere on the mini excavator.
As I was going over everything, I found a grease fitting that looked like I hadn’t greased. So I tried to put grease in it, and nothing doing. And it wasn’t just a minor grease fitting, either. It was the main grease fitting for the dozer blade to lift it up and down.
Yikes.
So I spent the next 3 hours, or so, trying to clean out the components, so that I could get it to take grease.
Pick tools, and spray cans of solvents and lubricants, and my torch, and on and on and on.
Heck, I even grabbed my little tire air compressor in the hopes that I could build up enough pressure to blow out whatever was clogging the channels between the frame of the dozer blade and the bushing.
No dice.
I think it was actually longer than 3 hours. Maybe more like five or six. π
It was very frustrating. What compounded the frustration was how hard it is to find any of my tools. All that time and all that energy and all that effort cleaning and organizing, and… I don’t know where anything is.
It would be hilarious if it weren’t so discouraging with my current mental health status.
Little bit of irony…
Eventually, I gave up on trying to clean out the channels and decided to just disassemble the joint. So I grabbed my punch and punched out the seals on both sides, and then I grabbed multiple sledgehammers, and sockets and what not and beat out the pin, and then, gratefully, was actually able to beat out the bushing. It took a lot of work and a lot of effort, but I got the bushing out, got all the dirt that was wedged up in the channel out, cleaned out the slots, sanded down some of the rusty spots on the pin, and put it back together and greased it up.
The seals were damaged getting them out, which is pretty normal, I think, but I went ahead and reused them. The rubber part of the seal was still good, and that’s what really matters, I think.
π€
After getting all that done, it was basically the end of the day. Whole day spent pretty much on just that.
So tired of heavy equipment problems. I still have to put the skid steer back together.
Since I was working on grease fittings and checking everything, I took the opportunity to get my permanent marker and number all of the grease fittings that you grease with regular maintenance. There are 25 of them, and so I’ve numbered them all, in logical order of what makes most sense as you’re greasing it, so whoever does greasing in the future shouldn’t miss any because all they need to do is follow the numbers, and if they see a number that isn’t the next one in order, then they know they’ve missed a grease fitting. So they need to go back and look for the other number.
Hopefully, that will, in the future, prevent the same kinds of issues I dealt with today.
But there’s no bandwidth inside my brain.
I’m just… exhausted.
Went and grabbed a bath in the creek. Haven’t seen any snakes since that one day. Hadn’t ever seen any before, so probably not very likely to see one again anytime soon.
No sign of the beaver today.
Water level was a lot lower than yesterday. Dropped another probably five inches, maybe six.
Think I had a couple of flyers today, but no premeditateds.
Didn’t do as well on the internet side of things. I looked at the news a little bit. And I looked at sports a little bit.
π
Just need an escape.
π
Went to the grocery store and replenished my rabbit food, bought my mom some flowers and dropped them off for her. Headed home and ate dinner. Got some fun things I want to eat, but I have to be judicious about when I open things, as I don’t have a refrigerator, and I don’t want to bother with ice right now when it’s so hot during the day. It’ll just melt the ice super quickly.
I don’t know why loneliness is hitting me so much harder these days.
Fingernail is getting ready to fall off. It stings a little bit, and if you wiggle the fingernail, you can see the whole thing move up and down.
It’s weird.
