2024-10-29 (Tuesday) — Nebraska!

We’re on the home stretch, at this point.

I don’t really want to be on the home stretch. I don’t really want to go back to the massive stuff in Arkansas that I have to take care of.

It’s been nice to have breathing room.

But it has to be taken care of, and I really really hope I can get it taken care of before the weather turns really cold.

I don’t want to be dealing with this stuff into next year.

I want to be done.

Anyway, woke up this morning and tried to gather some information for my brother-in-law about his truck, sending him a photo of his Vin number, a photo of the rear differential identification tag on his rear diff, and a picture of the fill plug on the rear diff.

Then I got little John emptied, which was a bad idea, because even though it doesn’t weigh very much, it was enough to strain my back. 😕

And then while I was trying to move something in the van, I slipped and slid back onto the ground. I didn’t hit very hard, but hard enough to make my back even more angry, I think.

😕

So whereas the time off in South Dakota seemed to be aiding in getting some relief, now things are… pretty bad. 😞

Anyway, we headed out and toward the cheapest gas station in Hot springs ($3.09), before pointing Rover’s nose toward Nebraska.

We did some shopping at the Walmart in chadron, Nebraska, restocking our ice that had completely melted.

Little me accidentally got a bit of a mouthful of Kananaskis melted ice water, complete with all sorts of lovely floaties.

Going to cross my fingers that there’s no giardia or cryptosporadia in there. 😅

Ice, oat milk, soy milk, cold cereal, salsa, munchies, and… May or may not have had ice cream for breakfast. 🙃

Having managed to get myself back to the higher pay level, I decided to spend a good chunk of the day, in fact, most of the day, working on JustAnswer stuff.

I answered question after question, I think maybe some around 25 or 30 for the day?

(I’m actually still checking in on questions as I write this)

We got gas again in Mullen, mostly because they had a bathroom, and bathrooms are few and far between out here in the middle of nowhere nebraska.

More JustAnswer, more driving. More JustAnswer, more driving, until we arrived at sargent, Nebraska, where we are currently–my mom visiting one of her friends while I hang out in the van trying to earn some money.

When we first got there, I did go inside for a little bit, long enough to chat just a little bit, but mostly to see Mindy, our old dog that is now being cared for by my mom’s friend here.

Amazingly, she was a lot less fearful this time around then she was last time, so I actually got to pet her, and she seemed, although still quite neurotic and anxious, at least she was willing to come up to me in fits and spurts.

I kept working on just answer stuff and tell the van ran out of battery in the middle of a phone call.

This New Zealand phone doesn’t have the antenna strength or capability or whatever it is to get a good signal that a domestic phone would have, so I have to rely a lot more on my connection with Starlink.

Anyway, I jumped the van, finished the phone call stuff, let the van run for a while while it charged up the battery enough to let me keep working a bit.

And that’s where things stand right now. It’s just after 10:30, and I’m still kind of doing JustAnswer a little bit. I’m going to eat a little bit. I got another supposedly updated MRI report, this time for my thoracic, but it still missing I think two or three of the vertebrae explanations.

A little frustrating, but maybe it’s just my ignorance, so I’ll find out tomorrow.

Been doing well on addiction stuff for a little bit, so that’s… nice.

If anything else interesting happens tonight before I go to bed, I’ll mention it in tomorrow’s post. Hope you all have a good night.

Love and hugs!

Lift the world.
