2024-11-27 (Wednesday) — More Stuff Sold

(written on the 28th)

The idea of jumping back into the stock market has been on my mind regularly for quite a long time.

I’m fact, I’ve been kicking myself a little bit for not having been prepared for the post election surge of certain securities that clearly were going to go up in value of the previously unthinkable (in my mind) happened (Trump winning again).

Had I been ready to purchase the securities that I expected were going to go up, I would have made quite a bit of money at this point, because they did indeed surge as I expected.

Buuuut I wasn’t prepared.

Since I hadn’t been able to discipline myself to only trade when I was confident and had let myself go on making dumb trades, as you know, I shut myself out of trading altogether to keep myself safe.

So when I needed to be ready, I wasn’t– because most of my money is tied up in a high-interest savings account that only lets you withdraw a certain amount of money each day.

Oops.

Well… who knows, maybe it’s for the best.

But the trades I wanted to make could have netted me more money than I even have in the bank had I made them. 😅

One of the consequences of not having enough self-discipline years ago when I last tried trading.

Anyway, I mention all this because I ended up staying up pretty much all night (until 6:30 in the morning) researching stocks and redoing my accounts and whatnot.

😅

I still might not make any trades, as the stock market is crazy high right now and likely to hit some rough patches soon.

We’ll see.

What I know that I’m not going to do is go back to the strategy that I tried to use last time.

If I trade again, I’m going to go back to my very first strategy, the one that I created when I was 18 that has been successful every single time I’ve tried it. I only stopped using it because I got greedy, thinking the new approach I learned from someone else would be more lucrative, as it was crazy lucrative for them.

And maybe it could have been, but I was too impatient to learn the ropes first before diving in.

I simply dove in headfirst with large sums of money on the line from the very beginning instead of learning the strategy well and proving to myself that I could do it well before going in with large sums of money.

So I guess we’ll see how things go.

Will I trade again? Maybe. Will I not trade again? Maybe.

Who knows…

What I am going to do is have some money in the trading account, so that I’m ready to trade if I want to.

So I’ve begun the process of transferring money, and it’ll probably take me 5 to 10 days for the money to transfer and be available. By that time, the stocks that I had wanted to purchase will likely no longer interest me (unless something changes) as I think the bumps that I was expecting have already occurred, and they have leveled off at this point.

Anyway, so that’s going on.

I spent most of the day working for JustAnswer and scanning business documents. I did enough work today to be safe from being demoted in my compensation level for next week, so that’s nice. That’s a bit of stress prevention.

🥳

I still have several days worth of scanning left to do, but it also means that I get work done because scanning is mindless, and I can scan while I work. I’m not as efficient at scanning while I work because I get distracted or have to look up stuff for customers, but still, I’m making money while scanning, so that’s a plus.

I also managed to sell a couple things today. I had the wheels and tires that I removed from Loaf up for sale. I also had the tow hitch from the same van for sale. Had a guy come and offer me a little bit less than what I was asking, and I threw in the tow hitch for another 20 bucks, so it’s nice to have that stuff gone and a few more dollars in my pocket from Loaf parts. 🙃

Need to get these other Vans sold. Haven’t even listed the Ford again yet.

I’m not very good at doing everything at once. It’s almost like I’m trying to sell stuff in order.

😅

Anyway, it was nice to get those things sold. I also burned a crap ton of business documents after having gotten them scanned into my computer.

I’m making dents in the piles of documents. It’s nice to make progress, even though it’s taking forever. 😅

Lift the world.
