2025-01-27 (Monday) — Off Kilter

(written on the 28th)

I’m not doing well, and today compounded things.

Parking enforcement at the mall parking lot where the gym is located told me they would tow my van if they saw me there again overnight.

Apparently, there were signs about no overnight parking that I hadn’t seen anywhere, at the far edges of the parking lot, and one faced opposite to the way I always came in the parking lot, so I hadn’t seen a single sign.

Oh well.

The interaction with the parking enforcement guy was a pretty crappy one, too, which… I didn’t feel good about. 😕

So that bothered me all day.

And given the threatening nature of the enforcement person, I was afraid that they were going to tow my van if they saw it in the parking lot, even if I was inside exercising. Fortunately, I saw the parking enforcement officer again after working out, after having checked over and over and over again while working out to make sure that no one was towing my van, and I clarified with him that they wouldn’t tell me unless they found me sleeping in it, and he gave me a thumbs up.

Still, I’m nervous to go back, given the interaction and whatnot.

Anyway, I headed over to the Bentonville Planet Fitness, and drove all around the parking lot and didn’t find a single sign that prohibited parking, and the Bentonville building is on its own private piece of land, so it’s not part of a mall or other shopping complex, so there isn’t going to be any parking enforcement other than what they do for their own grounds.

After scoping out the parking lot there, I worked out a bit there as well (just cardio) and headed over to the local library, where I figured I would pay for a library card or whatever would let me have access to the building so I could get a better work routine going.

The power station that I bought is defective, not allowing it to charge in cold temperatures, and I still need to send it back, so I don’t have backup power to just use my office as my workspace until I get that whole situation figured out, so I’ve been using Wendy’s, but I don’t want to use their wall outlets to power my computer without paying for stuff, but it’s fast food, so… not so healthy.

So I figured the local library will be a better choice.

🤷

Anyway, I stayed there for a little bit, in the parking lot actually, trying to do some just answer work. I did go inside briefly to ask questions about library card stuff and whatnot.

Then I headed over to the Walmart supercenter in Bentonville because the online Walmart map said that that was one of the few Walmarts in our area that allowed overnight parking, but alas, nope.

The map was wrong, and there was a sign pulling into the parking lot prohibiting overnight parking.

Blasted covid. Screwed up so much.

Stayed in the Walmart parking lot until they closed. Then I headed back over to the Bentonville gym.

My sleep schedule is still way off, so I wasn’t tired at all during normal sleep time (after 11) so here I am after 2:30 a.m. with my alarm for 5:30 a.m.

I’ll get up, work out, go to Walmart, and take a nap for a couple hours before starting the day.

I hope. 🤞

Lift the world.
