(written on the 16th)
Woke up at AutoZone at about 6:45 and headed over to the Walmart to nap a little bit more, since I didn’t want to be at the AutoZone when they were opening the store for the day.
After a good little nap at autozone, and thinking about what my brother Richard had mentioned to me about carrying cash with me, that a police officer, should they find reason to search my van, could decide they wanted to confiscate my savings if they wanted to, which can be extremely difficult to have returned once taken.
So I deposited cash in the bank and then headed up to the Bridalveil Falls parking lot of Provo canyon. I probably haven’t mentioned it, but the slide Canyon parking lot doesn’t open until May 1st. It’s always closed between November 1st and May 1st every year, so I can’t just decide to stay in that one like I did last fall.
Anyway, I spend pretty much all of my time in the parking lot just sitting in Rover staring at my phone screen. Sometimes working, but mostly just wasting my life away.
I think I probably answered maybe five or six questions, but that’s better than nothing.
Interestingly, while I was there, BYU head basketball coach Kevin Young came by with a player he’s hoping to recruit to the BYU basketball team for next year. Two coaches, the player, and the players family climbed out of a Jeep Grand Wagoneer and just hung out staring at the mountains and the waterfall and whatnot for probably 15 or 20 minutes.
I think the player was Martin Sommerville, though I didn’t think to snap a discreet picture to compare his face with pictures online. Martin was scheduled to visit the BYU campus today, so that would make the most sense. It also looks like it could have been Robert Wright III, but I don’t think that’s likely.
Anyway, that was pretty much it for the day. I stayed at the parking lot until after dark, and then I headed down to the Home Depot in Linden to see if I could find myself an inexpensive curtain to put between the front cabin area and the back bedroom / everything else area.
I guess that was a significant part of the day that I failed to mention. I did more than just waste time on my phone. Forgot about that. I reinstalled the interior that I had disassembled in order to try to figure out the leak that drips whenever it rains.
That was quite the challenge. The people who did the conversion did what I would consider to be a pretty shoddy job, which caused premature erosion, and made it quite difficult to put everything back together as well.
But it’s all back together, and I had hoped to find a curtain, but Home Depot didn’t have any curtains shorter than 84 in tall, and I only needed about 50 to 54 in tall. So I just used a blanket for the time being for privacy.
From there, I headed over to the Maverick in Pleasant Grove on State Road and crashed for the night.
Gratitude:
- I’m grateful I was able to get some work done today.
- I’m grateful that I got bumped back up in payout level, such that the work that I’m doing is getting paid at the rate that makes working for JA worth it.
- I’m grateful that I was able to get the headliner and all the interior stuff put back together.
- I’m grateful that I have the fun experience of seeing coach Young and The players there. Had I not been working and on the phone, I would have probably stopped to say hello and try to be a welcoming Force for the young man, which might encourage him to sign with BYU.
- I’m grateful that no one has given me any issues with my choices of places to stay since I’ve been here
Success:
- As ridiculous as it might be, I’m grateful that I was able to get going today, and that was a success.
Improvement:
- Time to make some decisions about my future. Need to build my business.
Loves.
Lift the world.
