2025-04-27 (Sunday) — Just… Cuz

(written on the 29th)

Was nice to be able to wake up without anyone having bothered me through the night.

Thank you, Maverick. 😊

My cousin texted me in the morning saying that she would love to see me, despite my being sick, so I arranged to swing by somewhere around noon, which would give me a chance to go to church in the morning.

They’re gazillions of church buildings all over the Las Vegas Valley area, and wouldn’t you know, but I managed to choose one that was a Samoan ward. 🙃

Fortunately, other than the prayers and music, everything else was in English.

Anyway, after that, I headed down to Henderson, spending maybe an hour or so at a park before heading down to where my cousin lives.

I wasn’t sure whether she’d want me to come because I was starting to get sick, but we spent a good long time sitting outside chatting on the back porch, and then we spent a good little while inside chatting–catching up, since I hadn’t seen her since her mom died, and since I’ve never met her husband. We spent a good while talking about life, talking about spiritual stuff, political stuff–all sorts of stuff.

We had dinner together, took a selfie together, and I headed out, heading on down I15 maybe an hour or two. I spent most of the drive chatting with with someone who is having a hard time. Usually I just text that person, but this time I felt like I should call, and that was definitely the best thing.

Somewhere in California, I think between Barstow and Victorville, I stopped on a random “exit to nowhere” to crash for the night.

I love those exits to nowhere. 😊

There were actually a couple of cars there, but they left shortly after I arrived.

Gratitude:

  • I’m grateful I was able to have an uninterrupted night sleep
  • Ungrateful there was a church close to where I was going to meet my cousin.
  • Really grateful that I was able to spend an entire day with my cousin. Grateful to reconnect. Grateful to redevelop relationship. Family is so important.
  • Grateful to have, relatively easily, found a place to camp for the night. I do love being out in the middle of nowhere. 🙃
  • Grateful to have been able to spend a good while chatting with my brother.

Success:

  • Chose to spend time with family above everything else.

Improvement:

  • Ummm… I’m sure there’s something, but it was just … a good day.

Loves!

Lift the world.

Bring it on.
