(written on the 24th)
Let’s see… being Friday, Hans was home to work on house stuff, so I tried to help in other areas to be useful, as the stuff he’s working on is sort of one-person stuff.
So I mucked out the barn and dragged. I spent some time beating apart spilled concrete leftovers from the block-laying days. It has to come out because it’s in the way of where the clean-fill gravel needs to go to provide a path for the water to go to get into the form-a-drain drainage system.
So I beat on concrete a fair bit, getting quite a bit excavated but the hardest section yet to come.
Spent some time dismantling the supports that were used when building the block part of the house.
I think I hung out with Heather and Hans for a good bit before heading out to Rover for the night.
Where, while watching a video from an evangelical, was alerted to a new YouTube series that addresses many of the more controversial topics related to the LDS Church.
Aaaaand I binge watched the new series. 🙃
Quite thought provoking.
Gratitude to My Father:
- I’m grateful for the progress I was able to make on the house.
- I’m grateful to be able to help.
- I’m grateful for people who work hard to give voice to the many different sides/perspectives of issues. I don’t like the echo chambers so common in today’s world where media, news, etc, is all tailored to reinforce ones already held beliefs instead of being open to hearing and legitimizing others sincere perspectives.
- I’m grateful for the cooler weather.
- I’m grateful I didn’t do any damage to the form-a-drain… At least not so far. 🙃
We. Celebrate. Successes!!! 🥳:
- I… don’t feel like there are really any meaningful successes lately because… I’m not growing. Aaaand I’m not growing because I’m choosing to avoid the hard things that allow for growth. So… no surprise to find myself without something to write.
Reflections on Where I Can Improve:
- Be true to yourself, Stephen. Face your challenges head on. Let go of fear. Trust.
Thought of the Day:
God knows all and sees all. In all of eternity, no one will ever know you or care about you more than He does. No one will ever be closer to you than He is. You can pour out your heart to Him and trust Him…
~ Russell M. Nelson
And thus it is.
Lift the world.
Bring it on.
