(written on September 5th)
I broke through today! I was productive in ways that actually felt productive! π₯³
π
I was checking items off my ColorNote list right and left, getting stuff done.
πͺπ
Finally. π
Home front chores taken care of, important to-do list items completed.
π₯³
Even made a bean smoothie. π
Dealt with personal property tax stuff from Arkansas that still is outstanding because I still have belongings in the state, but I at least got some of the things taken care of that needed to be taken care of.
Separated all the edible hay from the pooed and peed on hay, which…. took a while. The horses, understandably, don’t like peeing in places where the pee will splash back at them, and I guess it’s the same for pooing. So if there happens to be a pile of hay, even though it’s their food, they’re going to go fill that pile of hay full of pee and poo.
And there were two or three different piles of hay.
And lots of pee and poo.
So I spent a good little bit of time sorting the hay and then had the idea to move it to the very edge of the fence line where they could eat it, but wouldn’t be able to get in position to poo or pee on it, as in order to even eat it, they would have to put their heads underneath the wire fence.
Problem solved.
Mucked. Dragged.
Worked a bunch. I think by the end of the day I had answered something like 30 questions for the day, which I figured would probably be good enough to bump me up in Pay level for the coming week. π€
Out in arkansas, my mom was able to schedule with a local automotive locksmith to come out and provide, cut, and program two new keys for Happy, my Z3 that my mom enjoys and takes care of.
Headed over to Cascade Springs (JH Keith Park) and spent a little while working on my soaking pool, getting rid of the last of the clay/rock top layer on the north side that’s been the most challenging part of the whole project.
While I was there, I saw a young couple start coming down the path toward the pool, the second time I’ve seen that same young couple there. I don’t think they realized I was there until they were about at the water itself. I’m guessing they saw me and headed back up, but I’m not sure.
That little encounter prompted me to bolster my physical deterrents. π
So I spent a good little while with Hans’s saw chopping up dead trees and making it a rather large brush pile in the middle of the off-trail path to the water. π
I stayed until almost dark, and I installed the drain plug cups that my sister got for me, and they work perfectly. π
With the project having taken so long, the anonymity of the location has been destroyed. People can see the pool from up on the sidewalk because I never got the place really camouflaged because it was just taking so much time to even build the darn thing let alone get it camouflaged.
Oh well. Hopefully, the mud will keep most people away. I’ve built back the natural barrier that I cut up before, so that might help keep it a place of greater solitude. We’ll see.
I just want a place out in nature to sit and be with nature. It’s a bit harder to find out here, with so few trees.
From The Springs, I drove to my overnight spot just east of Casper and called it a night, not great that it was late, but nice not to have the sun in my eyes/beating down on me the whole drive.
Gratitude to My Father:
- Grateful to have been able to cross off a lot of my to-do list.
- Grateful for the idea to put the hay on the edges of the enclosure, so the horses can’t pee and poo in their hay.
- Grateful I remembered to check the trash in the trailer. Was able to get rid of a large bag that was in there.
- Grateful for bean smoothies that are tasty, good for me, and filling.
- Grateful for a productive work day. I finished the day today having answered a bunch of questions. π
- Grateful I had a bunch of money in my Venmo account that I didn’t know about/had forgotten about, so when I sent money to my mom to help pay for the BMW lost-key replacements, I had nearly $1000 to draw from. π₯³
We. Celebrate. Successes!!! π₯³:
- Productive efforts trying to realign myself and my dailies.
Reflections on Where I Can Improve:
- I do feel a little bad constructing barricades to hide my soaking pool to keep people out. I’m a people person, after all. I don’t mean to be a spoil sport, but I do want my sacred, private nature space, so to speak. Aaaand… the place didn’t exist before I started building it. π
Thought of the Day:
My beloved brothers and sisters, fear not. Be of good cheer. The future is as bright as your faith.
~ Thomas S. Monson
π Shine on. π
Lift the world.
Bring it on.
