2025-08-26 (Tuesday) — 101-Year-Old Inspiration ðŸ˜Š

(written on the 5th and 6th of September)

I left my little overnight spot about 8:15 and headed to Planet Fitness, where, after only four exercises (three sets of 10 each), I tweaked my collarbone injury. 😅

Due to my already low desire to power through an exercise session, I called it good.

I also spent some time again on the phone with Identifix after receiving yet another collections notice while having a zero balance and with them actually owing me money.

Patience, Stephen. 😅

I chatted with them and hopefully got that taken care of. It’s fuzzy now, but I think I enjoyed a nice hydrobed massage session and then headed to the temple.

Today was an initiatory and baptism day, which is a fair bit shorter than an endowment and baptism day. I also found out that the temple workers who’ve been running the baptistry since I started going every week will have new assignments next week, today being the last of their two-month stint.

That’s a little sad for me, but it is what it is. I’ll be moving away for a while anyway, so it sort of feels natural maybe?

It was a super cool day today in the baptistry. There was an older man I’ve seen before who has the most wonderful radiant smile, and then there was a man who I think was 101 years old?

And he climbed down into the font!

So beautiful. 🥰

After the temple, I did some Walmart shopping, bought gas, and then headed over to Menard’s to buy several 5-gallon buckets of exterior sealant to finish sealing the basement walls.

Stopped off at Cascade Springs briefly on the way back, and got home to a little mini Christmas, multiple orders being delivered today.

Hans took the buckets of sealant into the basement, and I set up the power strip that I’d bought, another one that allows you to turn on and off each channel.

I also tried to use the extension cord I had bought, but it wasn’t going to be long enough. I should have measured before I ordered it, but I didn’t. 😅

My new water shoes in preparation for New Zealand also came. I’ve been destroying my current ones with all the work in the soaking pool. 🙃

The small hot glue gun also came, which I will use to help protect myself from Sand flies in New zealand, by hot gluing the super tiny screen that I’m going to bring with me to the outside of the vehicle to cover the windows, so I can have a nice breeze during the night without bugs.

Gratitude to My Father:

  • I’m grateful to be able to see that frail old man come to the temple. I also see a lady that’s probably about his age. I see her just about every week. I love it. 🥰
  • I’m grateful for great gas prices. I think it was $2.65 today? 🎉
  • I’m grateful to have gotten through to Identifix relatively quickly instead of having to wait on hold for a long time, which has regularly been the case in the past.
  • I’m grateful to have the means to prepare myself well for my trip.

We. Celebrate. Successes!!! 🥳:

  • Um…? 😅

Reflections on Where I Can Improve:

  • I wasn’t mean, but it was probably clear in the tone of my voice with the Identifix lady that I was frustrated with what has been a nearly year-long battle with their billing department making mistake after mistake after mistake after mistake. But there’s no need for frustration, and it certainly doesn’t lift my spirit or that of anyone else.

Thought of the Day:

One of the greatest indicators of our own spiritual maturity is revealed in how we respond to the weaknesses, the inexperience, and the potentially offensive actions of others.

~ David A. Bednar

Never give up.

Lift the world.

Bring it on.
