2025-09-03 (Wednesday) — Taxing

Holar holar!

I was able to get back on track a decent amount today. 🎉

I got some dailies done, finally had at least a semblance of a decent study today, even making what felt like some meaningful progress and gaining some meaningful insights in a particular area that I felt like is really important.

Also spent a fair amount of time working for JustAnswer from the morning all the way into the evening as questions came in.

And amazingly, I actually made some decent progress on my taxes as well. If I’m understanding everything correctly, I actually don’t have that much left to do.

🤞

Famous last words, but I hope, I hope, I hope! 😅

Played with Zora a bunch of times. Mucked out the barn a couple of times. Did the dishes. Grabbed the shop vac and sucked out the puddle of water in the septic tank pit. I should have done it earlier, but I didn’t. Lots of the water has already sunk in, causing the ground to be quite muddy, but it’s definitely a lot better than it would be had I not at least done it today.

Spent a good little while chatting with Heather. Ate dinner and chatted some more, and here I am ready for bed!

Gratitude to My Father:

  • I’m grateful that I woke up this morning in a good place. Yesterday was helpful, and my Outlook is better today than it has been for much of the last 2 weeks.
  • I’m grateful that it’s been cooler outside. It’s nice to not have a really hot van to get into at night that I’m waiting on to cool down. It’s cool enough tonight but turning the fan on is actually too cold.
  • I’m grateful for the progress that I’m making with my taxes.
  • I’m grateful to find out that though I didn’t need to go to Cheyenne because I realized as I was going back through my tax data that I had already gone through all the statements and pulled everything out that I needed before the statements were lost. So I needed the statements themselves, but I didn’t need them to actually do my taxes, so I could have just ask them to mail them to me instead of driving all the way from Casper to Cheyenne and then from Cheyenne back home. But what was was, and I’m grateful that I didn’t have to go back through statements to get the information because it was already there and recorded.
  • I’m grateful for Frozen fruit and freezers and the hard-working people, farmers and fruit pickers and production people who make it so easy to have tasty, good-for-you food.

We. Celebrate. Successes!!! 🥳:

  • I overcame the ptsd-ish issues and focused in on doing the things that needed to be done today.
  • Had a pretty decent conversation with the Big Guy. 😊

Reflections on Where I Can Improve:

  • I did waste a little bit more time again on college football stuff, but once again, I lost interest super quickly. I think that’s a good sign. 🤞🙃

Thought of the Day:

It is in vain for persons to fancy to themselves that they are heirs with those, or can be heirs with them, who have offered their all in sacrifice…unless they in like manner offer unto him the same sacrifice.
