Alohar! 😊
John woke up feeling worse this morning than he did yesterday, bad enough that he decided to make an appointment with a local urgent Care, so after breakfast, I drove him over to the urgent care where, gratefully, the physician’s assistant was quite attentive.
She ordered up some medications, so after his doctor’s visit, we headed across the street to the Walgreens.
Things didn’t go quite as well at the Walgreens. 🙃
At first, they told him it would take an hour, and then an hour later, they told him it would be another 45 minutes, and then after 45 minutes, they said they didn’t even have his prescription called in.
😶
While we waited, I tried to answer questions online and clean out and organize Rover, so I was able to be productive in areas that needed attention. 🙏
After finally getting his medications, we headed across the street but again to a pizza place that’s designed pretty much like Cafe Rio, where you build your own pizzas.
Pretty cool place, great pizza. Good stuff.
From there, it was over to Walmart for John to be able to get a swimming suit for when we would go back to the Hippie Hole.
Today, however, we were heading east!
We stopped off to get gas along the way before entering Badlands National Park.
Neither of us had ever been before, so it was kind of fun to be going on adventures together like we used to do.
We started at the Northeast entrance, which, turned out to be the most impressive sight of the whole park, at least in my opinion. It was beautiful all the way through, but awe inspiring there at the beginning.
After taking a fair number of pictures to start, as we were winding our way through the park, we thought that there was a Cruise America RV on the side of the road stopped with a bunch of elderly people standing in front of it, so we pulled over and went over to try and help.
The four older people had been out there for 6 hours waiting for the Cruise America people to get a tow truck out there to get them taken care of.
Being as we were in Rover for the drive, I had my tools with me, and I had hoped to be able to get them going, but the issue was bigger than what I was going to be able to do for them on the side of the road.
We spent quite a bit of time there, but in the end, there wasn’t really much I could do there. 😕
Gratefully, they were able to find a towing company that was capable of towing that large of a vehicle back to town.
As we exited the park, we saw a couple of bison grazing, so we stopped to take pictures. Just to buy some, and a gazillion prairie dogs. 🙃
Grab ourselves some dinner at a Mexican place in Rapid City and then decided to book another night at the same hotel as last night, seeing as we are going to go right back to the Hippie Hole tomorrow.
Gratitude to My Father:
- Grateful I was able to get Rover cleaned out a decent bit.
- Grateful for fun times with a good friend.
- Grateful for this beautiful world, vistas that feed the soul.
- Grateful for the flexibility that I have to do these kinds of things.
- Grateful for the financial prosperity with which I have been blessed that allows these degrees of freedom of choice that I have.
We. Celebrate. Successes!!! 🥳:
- I think my desires are continuing to be educated in ways that are meaningful–wanting other people’s happiness and joy and prosperity more and more, as the number of more selfish, trivial concerns diminish. I hope that’s true, at least.
- I was mostly unfazed by the uncomfortable blessings today. 😊
Reflections on Where I Can Improve:
- The next step after unfazed is sincere gratitude, not just desired gratitude for my uncomfortable blessings.
Thought of the Day:

G’night, my lovelies. 😊

Bring it on.
