2025-09-15 (Monday) — Back On the Hill

(written on the 16th and 17th)

Hello, my lovelies! 😊

Amazingly and gratefully, my headphones kept me from hearing the super loud freeway right next to me, which allowed me to sleep at least decently well. πŸ₯³

After using the rest area bathroom, I pointed Rover’s nose East and headed off into the sunrise.

I drove and drove and drove, taking my first rest by going to the Walmart Supercenter somewhere near St Joseph Missouri, I believe.

Filled up my gas tank at the gas station right next to the Walmart, and then headed back out on the road.

Ended up driving all the way through to Bella Vista, where I stopped off at Miguel’s shop, as I wanted to take pictures of the junker Subaru that I want to get posted up for sale.

Miguel wasn’t supposed to be there, but he ended up being there, so I hung out and chatted with him and Koven for a good little while, helping with one car, but mostly just chatting until they closed up for the day.

Tried to work a little bit today, and was able to answer I think maybe seven or eight questions.

Amazingly, last week I was promoted on a week where I actually dropped in customer service rating after some really crappy questions and unfavorable customers.

It’s all so completely ridiculous.

And then yesterday, I maintained my payout level. I just don’t get it, and at this point, it’s not worth trying to figure out (accept my brain just keeps wanting to figure it out).

From Miguel’s, I headed over to Pea Ridge and met my mom for dinner at the Wendy’s there, a throwback to old times.

My brain says we’re supposed to be on our third annual Great Western Road trip, but it’s not happening this year. In fact, I don’t think there’s even going to be a Michaelmas in Utah, as I haven’t heard anything about it.

Too bad.

Chatted with Mom for a little while, helped her out with her little Nissan Juke, which she was worried was having some issues, but I wasn’t able to replicate anything that was concerning to me. There was some sound, but it was so faint that I told her to not really worry about it.

After dinner and working on her Juke, I headed over to Haven Hill, parked my van up by the barn, and called it a night.

Gratitude to My Father:

  • Grateful for the rest area allowing 10 hours of stop time. πŸ™
  • Grateful I was able to answer at least a few questions today.
  • Grateful none of the questions were with less… comfortable customers.
  • I’m for dry climates. Oh my goodness is it nasty hot and humid here. However did I live here for 9 years?!?!?! πŸ™ƒ
  • I’m grateful I was able to hang out with my mom a bit. πŸ™

We. Celebrate. Successes!!! πŸ₯³:

  • Despite my continual slips, I’m still fighting.

Reflections on Where I Can Improve:

  • I’m slipping in so. many. areas. Wasting time online, not filling my spiritual tank, working a little bit while driving… 😬.

Thought of the Day:

If for a while, the harder you try, the harder it gets, take heart. So it has been with the best people who ever lived.

~ Jeffrey R. Holland

It’s worth any effort. It’s worth every effort.

Lift the world.

Bring it on.
