(written on the 29th from notes taken previously)
I asked Jim if he had a weed eater I could borrow, and he brought one over, and I spent a good little while trying to weed eat the area where the trailers were because somebody wanted the gas tank I was giving away, and I thought I remembered it being over by those trailers.
But since the area is completely overgrown, you can’t see even one of the trailers, let alone a gas tank. 🙃
So I spent a while trying to weed eat, but after a little while, it was pretty clear that the weed eater wasn’t going to be powerful enough to cut through the super thick weeds. It’s going to need one of those blade cutting weed-eater attachments.
I spent a little while trying to get the mower started, and then I spent a good little while mowing, trying to cut back severely overgrown areas.
I also spent a fair amount of time weeding and cleaning up around carriage barn/shop. I tried to figure out Jim’s truck, which was not accepting gas but instead spewing it back on the ground.
Took his truck to the gas station, but I wasn’t able to reproduce the issue, it filling just fine.
I grabbed some diesel fuel while I was there, and I went over to the tractor to continue mowing, only to find the tractor tire was completely flat.
😶
Everything seemed to be going sideways today.
Started trying to clean up the wood that had been left by the upper pond. No one had done anything since I left, so it was all overgrown around branches and smaller tree trunks and fence panels.
Truthfully, I was pretty discouraged seeing so much overgrown.
I started a burn pile on fire and started cleaning up the huge tangle of weeds and wood.
Worked and worked at that. Cleared wood from all over the north side of Liz’s property (there were lots of fallen branches in the way of mowing).
Cleared all that away and mowed the tall grass/weeds leftover.
Started to rain a bit, and I went inside Liz’s place, and we chatted a bit, and she fed me dinner. 🥰
Went down to get my truck started, and it did start but didn’t go into gear at first. I grabbed my scanner, and there were like 16 check-engine codes. I opened the hood and found that mice had started to make a nest in the fuse box, insulation clumps and reeking of pee.
😕
Gratefully, after clearing the codes, the truck did go into reverse and drive. 🙏
About that point, Jim invited me up to eat with them, so I headed up and hung out with them for a bit.
Then I headed over to the Neighborhood Market to meet someone who wanted to buy my keyboard. 🥳
Chatted with him for a bit and gratefully sold it. 🎉
Chatted on the phone with my sister Heather for a bit, donated a bunch of clothes and some other stuff to Liz and her boys and hungout a bit more with her.
Spent some time chatting with Stevie and Risa.
Good day. 🙂
Gratitude to My Father:
- Grateful I was able to stay pretty darn positive despite the relapse yesterday and so much going sideways today.
- Grateful to have finally sold that keyboard. That adds flexibility to what I can do organization wise in Rover. Still tons more to sell/give away, but it’s nice to have some more room!
- Grateful to be able to spend time with Jim and company.
- Grateful to be able to spend time with Liz.
We. Celebrate. Successes!!! 🥳:
- Staying positive amidst the uncomfortable blessings. That’s a pretty decent win today.
Lift the world.
Bring it on.
