Don’t really remember much about today. Not doing well at all.
Coming to Arkansas… I mean I can’t really blame it on coming to Arkansas, but it’s like I just reverted back to who I was when I was here before.
😞
Found that not only did one of the five tires have a nail in it, but one of the other tires that I thought only had just a little flat spot was actually completely ruined. I hadn’t properly inspected it before, and unfortunately, it’s absolute junk, unusable, the inside of the tire completely separated from itself even though all the rubber is together on the outside.
Oops. You’d think I would learn one of these days to give what I buy a thorough inspection before I buy it instead of just trusting that the people are honest.
And maybe they are honest and just didn’t realize it themselves, but it’s just so common that what I buy ends up having issues that are pretty substantial that I should have caught in a basic inspection.
Oh well.
After getting all the wheels and tires organized and ready to get mounted and swapped and whatever, putting them all in my truck, I headed over to Pea Ridge to have Pea Ridge Tire get everything taken care of.
But good crap, their prices were astronomical!
I think they’ve tripled their prices since the last time I used them? It was $45 to mount a tire.
😶
So I left and headed over to Avoca Tire, where it was only $25 per tire, which included any needed tire repair in that $25. They’re tired disposal fee was also a lot cheaper, so all told, I think I was out $115 getting three tires disposed of, three tires mounted, and two tires patched.
After that, I headed back to Haven Hill and got the tires properly mounted, one replacing the bad one on my dump trailer and then replacing both of the spares, one on my dump trailer and one on my flatbed.
After that, I brought my dump trailer over to neighbor Dan, as I figure that’s probably going to be the quickest way I’ll be able to get it fixed. My back can’t handle trying to fix it again, or at least I don’t want to risk causing more problems with my back.
I showed him what all was wrong with the trailer, and we chatted for a while, and then I headed out.
Went to the Walmart neighborhood market again, once again buying a bunch of junk food. 😅
Still not doing well at all.
And it just will not stop raining. I think it’s rained probably 8 in since I’ve been here, and I’ve got all those holes in my roof, so I’ve got little containers everywhere trying to catch the rain, but my bed is damp, and there’s water all over, and in this climate, if I don’t get it dried out quickly, it’s going to mildew.
Yeah… not doing well. 😕
