2025-10-11 (Saturday) — Foundational

(written on the 22nd from notes taken previously)

A little over a week later, and I was finally back at it, back at working on the house. Greatly, it warmed up enough to do a little bit of work, so I started busting out as much as I could get done on the house.

I spent a good chunk of the morning digging out parts of the form-a-drain that had been buried when the dirt walls surrounding the foundation had collapsed.

After digging out all that dirt and rock, I spent a good little time sealing the EF Block a bit higher on the South and West sides of the house.

We all talked about the efforts on the house a fair bit, and then Hans and I spent the rest of the day digging the gravel out from around the entire foundation, as we realized that ground level was below the form-a-drain, and it should have been even with the bottom of the form-a-drain.

So we spent hours doing that. Heavy work digging gravel out and then lifting either flinging it into a gravel pile above the excavation level or into the tractor bucket, also above the excavation level.

Exhausted.

Ate dinner and vegged.

Exhausted and sore. My body feels like it’s right on the edge of being injured, or possibly already injured, but hopefully just right on the edge of being injured. Like if I kept working, I’d likely strain something or tear something.

Hopefully I’m not actually hurt.

Lift the world.

Bring it on.
