(written on the 23rd)
Most of today was the same as yesterday. Very heavy. Paralyzed.
😞
The only thing that managed to pull me out was knowing that I had nieces that were going to be at my brother’s house, one of whom I haven’t seen in years, and I didn’t want to spend the next 6 months in a foreign country, having spent over a week in Utah and not seeing them.
I wanted them to feel loved and cared about and not… forgotten or unimportant.
So I dug myself out of the hole I was in, went over to Jared’s place, and had a good time hanging out with and catching up with all three of my three adult nieces (my oldest brother’s three daughters).
From there, I headed over to Herriman, over to the house of one of the members of my brother’s church congregation. My brother was trying to help him diagnose an issue with his Subaru, so I went over to help.
We did a whole bunch of tests, spending probably a couple of hours there. In the end, it ended up being two different issues, clogged up catalytic converter and a bad MAF. Based on the symptoms given, I was just about positive it had a clogged converter, and we were able to verify that by removing the upstream o2 sensor, which allowed the back pressure to escape, quick allowed the vehicle to have power again.
That solved the power problem, but there was still an issue with the misfires at that high RPMS. After doing a quick test, we were able to narrow it down to bad data coming from the MAF, the misfires going away completely with the MAF unplugged.
🎉
After that, I hung out chatting with Richard about gospel stuff at his place until something like 3 in the morning. 😅
Grateful to be out of the paralysis.
Lift the world.
Bring it on.
