(written on the 28th from notes taken previously)
Headed over to the bank this morning to pick up all the New Zealand cash that I had ordered. $6000 New Zealand dollars.
Not what I wanted to do, but whatever. I’m trying to reduce stress by being prepared in different ways to make it as easy as possible to buy a vehicle when I arrive.
Headed over to Cory’s place. I made a deal with him to buy the van from him, and I’d take parts off for Rover, and then we’d take it over to the scrap yard.
Unfortunately, I misunderstood, thinking he wanted to drive it over, so I didn’t take off all the parts that would have been most useful. When he arrived expecting to drag it over, I realized I’d wasted the day, well, maybe hours, at least, on the less-useful stuff.
My brain just slipped a cog, and I blew the opportunity.
Discouraging and frustrating day trying to remove parts, and then all the more so realizing that I blew the opportunity.
😕
Not doing well.
I’m grateful to Cory and his wife for letting me keep my van there for 6 months, though. 🙏
On the way home, I stopped off at a place in Sandy that was selling a pair of shoes that were basically brand new, supposedly. Wanted to get some shoes that hadn’t been around livestock, just in case New Zealand gave me grief and wanted to take my shoes away from me. 🙃
They have pretty strict biological rules for people coming into the country. Don’t blame them, but I wanted to be prepared for it.
Unfortunately, the brand new shoes must have been sitting out without ever having been worn, or something, because just pressing on part of the shoe, it started cracking because it hadn’t been used and had maintained the same form for probably pretty much its whole life.
So those were a no-go and a waste of time. 😕
From there, I headed over to Richard’s house and spent hours going through my stuff trying to organize and get packed. Probably 7 or 8 hours (just guessing) and still wasn’t done.

I think I finally went to bed about 3:00. 😴
