(written on December 8th from notes taken previously)
Overripe bananas with yogurt for breakfast. That… didn’t do me so well, though I learned something useful.
Overripe bananas can trigger migraines in some people.
Apparently, I’m some people. π
Took me a little while to get my church clothes figured out, as they’ve been stuffed in a plastic bag since I packed everything up to come to New Zealand. π
So, rather wrinkly, I made it to sacrament meeting for the last probably 15 minutes and stayed for Sunday School.
I didn’t stay to sleep this time. π
After church, I headed over to a pharmacy in the hopes of getting to migraine pills, as I wasn’t doing so well, but the stuff that’s OTC in the US is prescription here, I guess? Or maybe I just didn’t know exactly what to look for.
So I headed over to a Pak ‘N Save, as the pharmacist lady had asked me if ibuprofen worked for me, and I had never even considered using ibuprofen for a migraine, so I looked it up, and I guess it does help some people, so I decided to see what I could find at the local grocery store.
I bought some pills that seemed like they had a chance of helping, ate something and took them, drove back to Ruakaka Beach, and took a nap.
Fed the birds a bit again. π

I once again needed a jumpstart (again from letting my battery drain down running/charging stuff), gratefully got a jumpstart from a couple of German? girls, and headed back to Waipu Caves.
Caught up on the BYU basketball and football games (both wins π), spent time walking around the parking lot to pick up trash, for which I was thanked by a man from Belgium.
Ended up having a lovely little chat with Him and his parents who had come to visit him, just chatting about life and whatnot there in the parking lot by their camper. Julian, the son who was living in New Zealand, having been a deckhand on a boat that went to Tahiti, where he had lived before moving to New Zealand.
Anyway, his parents, Joelle and Bernard had come to visit him, and it was fun to hang out and chat with everyone.
They had planned to go in the caves in the morning for their first time, and you already know what I say about that. π
So I took them to that first room in the caves, loaning my headlamp to Joelle, and we all hung out staring at the magical glow-worm universe.
A couple of French girls came in after Julian’s parents left, as I then Julian has told them what I’d said about making sure they go in at night.
Anyway, chatted with the French girls for a bit and Julian for a good long time before we headed back and called it a night.
Waipu Caves just feels like home to me, for some reason. Love this place. π€
Lift the world.
Bring it on.
