(written on February 19th from notes taken previously).
Not much to report.
Was rainy this morning, and I wasn’t much in the mood to venture around with the giganto sand flies, so I got myself some breakfast and continued my drive west toward the coast, stopping only to take some pictures at a bridge on the Buller River and to use the bathroom at Lyell campground.

I guess I did stay at the campground for a little bit, I think trying to figure out where I was going and what I was doing. 🙃
Once out of the gorge, I stopped for gas in Westport, as I had decided I wanted to head north up the coast as far as it was possible to go, which apparently looks like going to the Kohaihai Campsite.
There wasn’t really any place to stop in the campground itself, and I hadn’t paid for it, so I didn’t want to stick around.
I ended up just perching myself on the coast and veging out for most of the day, just hanging out in my van as it rained.
Come nighttime, I needed to find a place to stay for the night, and I wanted to head in the direction of tomorrow’s destinations, so I headed into the hills, up McCallums MI Rd, finding a nice grassy side road that opened up into a field where I continued to vege out a bit before crashing for the night
Lift the world.
Bring it on.
