2020-06-17 — But I Didn’t Curse

Well… I had a bit of a meltdown today. I realized, quite too late, that a battery had tipped over in my mom’s Durango, and had run down the tarp and spilled all over the carpet and wiring in the middle section, eating away the carpet, and mildly damaging the paint. I was already slammed for the day, but I couldn’t just let the battery acid continue eating through things, so I spent probably 2-3 hours in the middle of my jam-packed day cutting out what used to be nice carpet out of my poor mom’s Durango, cleaning up the wiring, and doing my best to get the battery acid off of everything. It was a lengthy, tedious process.

Aaaaaaaand…. I melted down. Yelling… loudly. A lot.

But… I didn’t curse.

So that’s something. I did have a couple of fliers today, though not during my melting down, I don’t think. Though I’d rather not have melted down, it’s pretty good, in my book of progress here, that I was able to hold my tongue during the meltdown.

I took out the rear seat and put it in the garage with the middle bench seat, and I got a bigger tarp, though the tarp might well be useless now, as the damage is already done. It took a long time to get everything cleaned up, get all the acid off the wiring harness that the acid puddled up around.

Ugh.

On the brighter side of things, we did 10 paying cars today. It was a frantic run to get things done, things going slower than hoped in a lot of things, not just the acid issue, though that was the biggest killer. I did five paying cars today and two non-paying cars, and David did 5 cars as well, so that part was good at least.

It’s 2:13 a.m. I didn’t get home until about 12:45, I think. Then I went out for an immediate run, though I probably shouldn’t have. I already swapped out yesterday for Saturday and didn’t want to swap out again or say I was going to give up, so I just took off and did the best

Back to falling asleep while writing. That happened a little bit yesterday, too, but not as bad as today.

I tried hard to stay hydrated today, but I still wasn’t great probably close to a gallon and a half. I was pretty crappy with nutrition as well. I didn’t eat anything all day until about 6 p.m., when the Bentonville AutoZone peeps gave me the rest of their pizza. Super nice  them. Then I had a couple of cans of spaghetti o’s at the very end of the night about midnight or so.

((Yawn))

Well, I better move into gratitude before I fall asleep.

#1. I’m grateful I sold my Honda Accord today. I’ve had it for sale for a long time. I got a decent price for it–$500 more than what I listed it at when I valued my assets, but still a little less than I’d hoped. I’d been hoping or $4500, but I settled for $3999 (going to $4000, just one dollar difference, would add hundreds of dollars in sales tax for them, so what’s one dollar to me? It’s a little bitter sweet. I really liked my Accord. It was clean, and nice, and… it was just nice. I’ll miss that car.

#2. I’m grateful that the lady from the second job gave me like a $67 tip.

#3. I’m grateful that as much as I was hot and sweating and working my butt off today, I’m not over the edge. I feel like I’m gonna be okay.

#4. I’m grateful for another good money day.

#5. I’m grateful that the Yukon that my tech fixed this morning that had a very similar issue only a few hours after my tech fixed it was easy to figure out. I think my tech accidentally broke the plastic tab on the connector that connects the ignition wire to the starter.. Old plastic. Easy to break.

I’m sorry there’s not much more today. I’m still clean on porn and sex addiction crap. Still good on no premeditated cursing, though I did have a couple of fliers today. Still good on TV, exercise (though with my body really struggling because of troubles I’ve had getting properly fed and hydrated). Still going strong on writing in my journal here.

Well, peeps… 2:28 p.m. Gonna go to bed, so I can at least get about 5 hours of sleep.

Loves and hugs.

Lift the World.
