2020-08-29 — On the Road Again

Hello everybody! 🙂

Little old me is on the road again, currently just north of Portland, heading south to California, and dictating today’s post.

Honestly, I’m super tired right now. It’s just shy of 10:30 p.m., and I have not gotten much sleep the last couple days, so I’m pretty exhausted. I had hopes of making it at least half way to my sister Rebecca’s today, but I’m thinking those are probably not going to be realistic.

I’m probably going to find a place to sleep not that far south of Portland, once I can get to the type of place where there are lonely freeway off-ramps that nobody ever gets off on. Once I’ve found one, I will probably bed down for the night.

Yeah, I’m fading quickly. I’ve been out of it for a good chunk of the day, my brain not working. It’s time for some good sleep. because of how tired I am, I’m not surprised but I haven’t made it very far before needing to sleep.

Oh well 🙂

I woke up at the normal Pacific coast time of 5:30, but I tried to sleep in a little bit. I think I slept until about 6 or a little before 6 after telling my tech where to go for the first job.

The people at the first job were out in the middle of nowhere, and he tried to find them, but couldn’t, they wouldn’t answer their phone or text. We were supposed to have worked on their truck yesterday, but I overbooked my technician. so the job got thumbs to first thing this morning, but they were basically no shows. they communicated again with us about 45 minutes later, asking if we were still coming, and I had to let them know that we had already tried, and that we would be able to come again until Monday or Tuesday. they didn’t reply after that, so I assume they are probably not happy with us, but we did try, we drove out into the middle of nowhere, and they weren’t answering their phones, so there was nothing we could do without wreaking absolute havoc.

It was a little bit high stress today, because things fell apart with three out of the customers, I had had a full day planned, perhaps even possibly a little too much, but it suddenly turned into possibly not having enough. I had to scramble around a bit to make sure that he had enough to do. Fortunately, I was able to keep him busy the whole day.

Other than that, I took pictures of the West Seattle house. Said goodbye to my mom, and drove down to my sister Heather’s place where I hung out with Heather and Hans for most of the day. On taught me how to shoot his recurve bow, which is pretty cool, and I had lunch and dinner with them. So nice to be with them! Wish I didn’t live so far away, but life looks like it’s changing for them as well, so they may not be in Olympia much longer.

So, here I am south of Portland now. I am still super duper tired, and I’m pretty much just looking for a place that is suitable for me to stash my car in the quiet out-of-the-way place so I can sleep for the night.

I’m just completely hammered. No sense in putting myself in further danger.

#1.; I’m grateful that my car has been able to get me this far without any issues since those first brake issues in Kansas.

#2. I’m grateful for Heather and ponds and their hospitality and friendship.

#3. I am grateful for my cell phone and everything that I’m able to do with it. It’s a camera. It’s a flashlight. It’s a million different things. And it’s so nice to have.

#4. it might be considered burying my head in the Sand by some, but I’m actually pretty grateful that I’m not very aware of what’s going on in the news right now.

#5. I’m grateful to understand that it’s just the right thing to do the right thing, regardless of the consequences.

I think that I am going to call it a night for tonight. It’s almost 11:15, and I am nodding.

Loves and hugs.

Lift the world.
