2020-10-21 — Bananas and Carrots and Beans, Oh My.

Hola, y muy buenas noches. 😊

Happy end of Wednesday to all you wonderfuls out there. 😊 Not all that much to report today. Just another day of steady progress. But steady progress is good. 😊

Oh! Wait! Yes, there is something!!! I mean, it’s not a lot, but it’s something. I set my phone alarm for 4:55, and… Drumroll, please! I got up at 4:55!!! It was fabulous! Gonna do the same tomorrow. Let’s make a habit of this, eh?

I have to say, though… Well, I don’t have to say. I guess I’m just gonna say that the morning still went too fast, though. 🙃

Still, so good. So nice to have all that quiet time.

I also got a few pages written for my book. I brief introduction, and now I’m working on chapter 1.

And thus it begins.

I stayed home again all day today. Servicise (making good progress on the trench), 5×5, cold shower (took two today 😁), prayer, memorizing, study, breakfast (finished the cornmeal today), got David going for the day, wrote my book for a bit (finished a very brief introduction and am a couple pages into chapter one), worked on clearing out the back pass (Stevie and Brenda’s house should be done around December, so I wanted to have the back pass cleared out and driveable between the two houses, their new one and ours. I spent probably an hour or two weed eating massive overgrowth before using the mower to make it look a bit more respectable. There’s still a lot to do, and we need probably 100+ dump truck loads of dirt to fill in the ravine enough for the road to be level instead of a big hill, but… one thing at a time, and that’s not at the top of the priority list right now.).

Figured out that there appears to be some sort of parasitic drain on my mom’s Juke. I mean, we knew there was one, but I might have traced part of it to the ignition circuit. There’s still more of a draw that I couldn’t figure out, so I’m not sure where the rest of the draw is coming from. I checked all circuits that go into fuse boxes, so I’m not sure where else to look, unless it’s in a fusible link somewhere. Not sure even how to figure that out. Wiring diagrams.

Blasted car. Don’t know that it’s going to get fixed before being sold.

Anyway, it’s 9:06, so I’m a little late again. Gonna finish up.

#1. I’m grateful that I’m continuing to make steady progress, getting habits reformed. All these things are pretty much just a return to what I was doing back in 2014/2015–exercise, breaking my study into personal, couple, etc., even cold showers, I think. Funny how easy it is to forget the things that were of greatest benefit to me.

#2. I’m grateful that David had another good day today. He was able to get another full day’s worth of pay in about three quarters of a day. Should be getting rested up a git with these lighter days. It’s good. He’s needed some lighter days, and he’s had about a week of them now in a row now while still making good money.

#3. I’m grateful that I’ve yet to be bitten by a brown recluse. They’re everywhere. Moved some boards out of the dog run area, and there was a massive one between the boards. No wonder they’re in the house. They’re probably in the root cellar, the woodpiles… But… if I can get rid of their food supply in the house, they’ll leave. We’re making progress. I’m probably repeating myself.

#4. I continue to be grateful for how quickly my memorizations are coming back to me. I’ll find myself singing hymns on a regular basis without even thinking about it ahead of time. It’s nice. Peaceful, and I think it’s helping me stay positive and to have a happy outlook.

#5. I’m grateful for a couple of warmer days in a row to warm up the house a little. It’s been a couple months maybe since we turned off the HVAC system, just regulating the temperature by opening the windows at nights. It’s been cold enough lately, though, that without the windows open at nights, it’s still around 60ish in the house in the morning. It was 80+ outside today, though, so it’s 69 in the house right now, which actually feels really nice. Tomorrow it will be another low 80s day before we get a super cold snap during which we’ll probably kick the heater on. I’m gonna let the house heat up tomorrow, and we’ll see how long we can survive the cold snap before it gets uncomfortable.

1st world problems. Seriously. I’m so spoiled to have a good job, a comfortable place to be, easy-to-get food, indoor plumbing (not that I use it much 😁).

Well… time for bed, my lovelies. Loves and hugs to you all. Onward and upward.

Lift the World.
