2020-11-21 — A Complete Protein

Happy Saturday. ๐Ÿ˜Š

It’s actually been a pretty nice, relatively leisurely Saturday. It was a slow work day, so there wasn’t much to direct David to do, and I sort of just piddled around all day. ๐Ÿ™‚ Had some good conversations with my friend Cory, and finally added brown rice to my bean smoothie, making a complete protein. ๐Ÿ˜

And… there you go. I don’t really have anything to say today.

#1. I’m grateful for a slow day.

#2. I’m grateful for fun real estate sites. West Virginia. Gorgeous, cheap land. Love it. Around $1000 an acre in a lot of places, and not way out hours from anywhere, either. Anyway, I’m grateful for fun diversions like that.

#3. Grateful for direction from Captain Universe. Felt like I got some of that today. I’ve felt like maybe it’s not the right time to learn something I’m trying to learn, and I keep trying to force it and not getting very far, and I got the impression that I could figure it out if I really tried hard, but that now isn’t the best time for me to learn it. I’ve really wanted to learn it, but as soon as I decided to let it go for the time being, I felt really good about the decision. Peace. Settled. I’m grateful.

#4. I’m grateful that the fire was able to stay going today despite the rain soaking the wood.

#5. I’m grateful for woods and walks through them and that I’ve now been able to feel like this property is a refuge, and that I don’t have to drive an hour to “get away” like I did in Utah or like I thought I needed to here.

#6. I’m grateful for the downpour outside right now. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Well, folks. Please send prayers/positive energy to a friend of mine who’s dealing with discontinuation syndrome, trying to come off a long-term medication, and the symptoms are… horrid. Thanks. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Loves and hugs.

Lift the World.

  1. Your friend appreciates the prayers and the positive energy and also wonders at what point you shouldnโ€™t be allowed to call blended food a โ€œsmoothieโ€ anymore. ๐Ÿ˜‚

  2. I concur with NITNAT! If you prep your rice and beans and veg one day a week, you can still have super fast meals, but meals with texture and flavor – eating can be a party for your mouth, a life experience, rather than just a pasty chore to add calories to the human machine ๐Ÿ™‚

The key with veg. Frozen is OK for edamame and corn and peas. Freezing makes zucchini and green beans and broccoli watery and yuck. Go for fresh on brassicas and squashes every time! Just blanche them (fast!) or roast them (drop dead delish), fridge em, then put them in your bowl with your other parts of the rainbow. Pleasing to eye and palate and body!
