Oh, brother. I’m tired. I was supposed to take the day off today, at least… not work on actual cars, but someone called relatively nearby who was stuck in the Walmart Supercenter parking lot in Rogers with a belt that came off, and if you remember from previous posts, belts don’t just come off… there’s pretty much always an underlying reason, and I found that his 2011 Dodge Turbo Cummins 6.7 diesel, once I got to it, had a nice little busted water pump bearing.
So… after paying $10.75 to wash my comforter at the laundromat (expensive, but I was happy to pay it. How else was I going to get that honkin’ beast clean? π), I went to Rogers, diagnosed his truck, and put his water pump in for him. That took me to a little after 3, which meant I just missed the cutoff for the antifreeze recycling for the month of December at the local recycling center.
Drat.
Oh well. π Life’s too short, right? Gonna try and be a good bit less stressed, a good bit more positive, and a good bit more selfless in 2021. π
Came home and worked on my business financial stuff for the rest of the day, trying to get everything figured out for filing 2019 and 2020. Looks like I’ll probably have to work with an accountant to get it all figured out. Aaaaaand, it’s probably gonna mean owing 10s of thousands of dollars to the IRS. We’ll see.
Bring it on.
So… that’s my day. π
It’s 9:47, so I’m late to bed, so I’ll try to make this quick, and tomorrow I’m gonna try and update my home page for the new year with some lovely resolutions and whatnot. I make “New Year’s resolutions” about every week, but it’s a good time to make them again! π
#1. I’m grateful to have my comforter washed and clean.
#2. I’m grateful that, though I’m sick and worse than yesterday, I’m not terrible. I didn’t do so well at my patented fever therapy last night. I tried, but my room gets colder at night, so the portable heater had a hard time keeping up. I’ll try again tonight. I’ve been drinking hot diluted apple juice, and that’s heating my body up a bit, at least to the sweating point, so we’ll see. Cross your fingers. π
#3. I’m grateful that the water pump job wasn’t a massive deal. It went pretty well, too, though it was quite cold, with a stiff wind as well. I think I was wearing four or five layers, and was still cold. πΆ
#4. I’m grateful to be making progress on the financial front. It’s slow going, but… it’s progress. Yay, for progress!! π
#5. I’m grateful work has picked up a good bit. It’s nice to not be worrying about having enough work for David.
Well, folks, I wish you a beautiful night, sweet dreams, and a happy happy new year! π

Loves and hugs, my lovelies. π

p.s. Another day clean. π Never ever ever ever again. Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope.
Happy New Year, Stephen! A good accountant can save you thousands! They know about deductions, rules, etc… that we wouldn’t even know to think about researching. Open that door wide and let the old year leave. The calendar turns only once each year, but our life turns with each breath, ever new!
