2021-04-19 — Signing Off

I’m really struggling, and I’m tired of reporting that to all y’all day in and day out. Just reporting that is adding to my already sky high level of discouragement, and I’m just tired. I’m tired of life. No, I’m not suicidal in any realistic degree. I’m just burned out of life right now. I feel like I’ve wasted the nearly 40 years I’ve lived, have just about nothing to show for it. Feel like I’m starting over in just about every way, and I’m just… tired of it all.

So… I might sign off from this blog for a while. Might last a day. Might last a month. Might be permanent. I guess we’ll see.

Thanks, for all your support over the last year.

Catch you when I catch you.

Lift the World.

  1. Stephen, I know those feelings. I hope that when you wake up you’ll feel a little better. I love hearing from you. That is irrespective of whether or not you want your readers as accountability partners. I will say that giving a home to thoughts like “My forty years have been a waste” is a sure recipe for bitterness, rage, and misery. I will say that the innumerable people you have helped along the way were no waste. I will say that layers of experience and compassion gained are no waste. I will say that misery is the sure result of having our happiness fixed to a thing or outcome. And we have ultimate control of which thoughts stay and which thoughts are given the boot. We don’t have ultimate control of somatic emotional responses, but managing and moderating our thoughts and taking deliberate enjoyment of what we do have is a recipe at least for more happiness than otherwise and for reducing the negative emotional load. It’s something I am practicing. It IS a practice. I do better at it when my physical reserves are boosted and I give myself mental/emotional R&R time. Anyway – all any of your readers want is your happiness. We certainly don’t stick around to judge you. We want your happiness. And if there’s any way we can help you get there, that’s what we want. Sending love and hoping to hear from you soon…

    1. Great comments Hansanheather. Stephen, I think you may be doing more good with this than you think, I think you also need to do what is best for you! God bless you!
