2021-06-08 — Nothing Major

Hola, mon peeps!

Happy Tuesday. 😊

I’m running late to bed today, yet again, for lots of reasons… Took forever to find the fire extinguishers I want for my skid steer and mini excavator, but I wanted to buy them ASAP because I’ve tentatively got my first customer next weekish (heavy-equipment rental), and I want to be ready. I wasn’t trying to be picky. I just was trying to find something that would be sufficient to properly protect my investments, and boy, it took a lot of searching high and low to learn what would be sufficient to put out engine/electrical fires. Good gravy. I’ve spent hours just trying to figure that out, but, cross your fingers, I now have two extinguishers and two heavy-duty mounting brackets on their way that I’ll be able to install next week.

I’m also running late because I spent a good amount of time on my own work van trying to figure out why the passenger door wouldn’t open from the outside and trying to figure out my headlight situation (only one headlight worked and that only on high beam). It took a while to get the door apart because there was one screw that wasn’t… intuitive, and I was afraid to break the door panel. I finally figured out how to get the panel off (thanks, YouTube), but then I couldn’t find anything wrong with the mechanism. I mean, obviously, it didn’t work correctly, but I couldn’t tell why. Nothing looked broken. So I thought maybe a plastic piece was out of place, so I pried it into a different location, but that made it worse, so I put it back where it was, and suddenly… the door handle started working again.

😶

I don’t know what I did that fixed it. It just… works now.

Wahoo? 😊

After that, I tried to figure out the headlight issue a little more (I’d already tried a little bit), but when I pulled the headlight assemblies, I realized the reason they weren’t working properly was because the wiring harness connector is different than the bulbs in the assembly, so… they don’t work together. 🙃 So now I either need to find bulbs that fit both the connector and the headlight assembly (because the ones that are supposed to go with the van don’t actually match up). Or I need to get adapters to connect the connector to the bulb that goes with the assembly. The good thing is that people appear to make the adapters I’ll need. I just need to figure out if the bulb works.

I think what happened is a minor fender bender in the front, and they got the aftermarket nicer–looking headlight assemblies, but they don’t use the same bulb type… so… it’s… messed up until I figure it out. 🙃

So… that kept me up… And eating dinner after I finally came in, already being late…

You know, you’d never know based on my getting-to-bed time tonight that I actually stopped working about 5 and called it a day. I was proud of myself for that, at least. 🙃 I had plenty of time to do what I needed to do to get to bed by 8:30. It just… That was 4 1/2 hours ago. 😶

Yikes.

Almost 1 a.m. How on earth? Guess I’d better…

#1. I’m grateful that my first customer was happy with me even though we haven’t yet figured out what’s wrong with his motorhome. I’m not a motorhome mechanic, and I told him that, but he’s either going to pay $1000 for a two and then $150/hr for a motorhome mechanic to figure out the issue, or he’s gonna pay me $0 in towing any my significantly less per-hour rate to try and figure it out. So… we made some progress today in figuring some things out, but I told him I’d need a wiring diagram to figure anything else out so that’s his homework department right now–get the diagram.

#2. I’m grateful that I was was patient today. I had lots on my plate, and the second car I went to I didn’t diagnose correctly at first, and wasted 2 hours or so thinking it was one thing, and then another thing, only to find out it was a much much bigger issue (poor lady). But I didn’t get angry, a tad frustrated at one point, but minorly, and otherwise, I did really well, I think. That was great!

#3. I’m grateful the door fixed itself. 🙃 How lovely. I was stumped, and now it’s good to go. Cross your fingers. May it be this way forever.

#4. I’m grateful for you support people. Had some late-night triggers while doing my online research trying to figure out the fire extinguisher stuff, and y’all were right there to help me. Thank you!

#5. I’m grateful to be ahead of the edge right now? I think I did better today at taking care of myself? I tried to drink a lot. And I stopped to eat a bit. It was hot and humid today, so I lost a ton of water through perspiration, but I did decently well at rehydrating, I think.

#6. Had a wonderful chat with my oldest brother–highlight of my day today. 😊 Grateful he wanted to chat.

Daily Accountability:

The Positive

  1. 15 days. The count is slow (time goes by slower when you’re keeping track of something daily, but it’s good for me to stay on top of it).
  2. I was good in reaching out when triggered today, pushups, support from y’all. I’m improving. And that’s what’s most important.
  3. I already said it, but I stopped work at 5, even though it was really busy, and I just called it a day. Trying to get my balance, a balanced life.

The Needs Improvement

  1. It’s 1… 10. 1:10… a.m. 😶 Good gravy. I’m bed-time impaired.

Well, my people, another good day. Nothing major to report… so far… though that could change at any moment… 🙃

Loves and hugs.

Lift the World.
