2021-06-23 — Out of the House

Hey, folks,

Happy Thursday. 🙂

I’m writing this entry using my cell phone because I dropped my computer last night and shattered my screen.

Whoops.

I’m glad phones are as capable as they are nowadays.

I didn’t do much today, but I did get out of the house, and I worked on 3 cars–three quick jobs. A battery cable repair and AC diagnosis, a no start diagnosis (loose battery cable), and someone who wanted an alternator put in, but I got there, saw that the belt looked really nasty, saw that the battery was 7 years old, and I was like, I don’t have any proof because I haven’t tested anything, but my gut says your alternator isn’t bad. So I put the belt back on, tested it, and the alternator was fine. It was a bad battery.

So that probably saved them a few hundred dollars or so.

I like it when I can do that for people.

#1. I’m grateful I was able to get out today.

#2. I’m grateful that the jobs that were all easy, no real hiccups. That was nice, as I’m trying to pull myself out of a pit.

#3. I’m grateful that the spider (most likely a brown recluse) that ran across my keyboard on the dark didn’t bite me. Don’t think I was able to successfully kill it, so it’s probably in my room somewhere still, but whatever. I’ve known I’ve had browns in here before, even in my bed, so… life.

#4. I’m grateful that my work schedule has, for the most part, made it so it’s not super inconvenient to get gas from the only station that sells CNG.

I’ve had a number of jobs in Springdale lately, which is not normal, but it’s a welcome blessing.

#5. I’m grateful to be able to work through hard things. Challenging conversation today with a friend, but we worked through it.

Progress today. Thankfully.

Goodnight, all.

Lift the World.
