Holar. Happy Tuesday. 😊
Got my Terrain shipped off to the shop to be repaired. Cross your fingers that they do the job right. I felt like I shouldn’t do the job myself… just that… f/Feeling. So… I’ll trust it to someone else and hope they get it properly taken care of.
A little nervous, but… It is what it is and will be what it will be. And it’s done now.
😬
Got started really late because of that. He didn’t come until like 1:30-2:00 ish. After that, did 5 cars, four paying. First was a car that was dying. Same one as the last one I worked on last Friday. Battery was drained again, but I couldn’t find any explanation as to why. The battery was testing bad even though it was basically brand new and an expensive one. 😶 I did find two parasitic draws, but they were small… a tenth of an amp for one and a twentieth of an amp on the other.
But the battery was toast, so… 🤷♂️. So I sold them a used battery because even though the battery was new, it wasn’t under warranty.
Second car was just a battery job, but then the airbox broke taking it out.
Ugh.
So it took an hour longer than it should have, spending all that time trying to epoxy the busted mount portion of the airbox back on.
Ugh.
He was late to tennis as well, which I felt bad for. 😕
At least it’s done, and if he ever wants more of a repair, or a replacement for the part, he’s got my card, and I’ll take care of it.
Third car… was tightening a belt on a car I changed the belt on months ago. This is… the fourth time I’ve had to come back to tighten it? It’s crazy. Never had to do that before. I’ve had to go back once before, maybe twice once? But four times? It’s insane. I ended up telling her that if it loosened up again, I was just going to refund her the labor cost and send her to Nissan. It’s… ridiculous. Absolutely crazy.
Fourth car was one that they thought had two problems, something causing it to die at stoplights and something messed up with the brakes. The people they bought the car from said it needed a brake booster, but it turned out to be just a vacuum hose that was unplugged. Fixed the dying, fixed the brakes.
Fifth car was a crank, no start. As soon as I tried to crank it (battery was really low), I realized the engine didn’t sound right, so I did some preliminary tests (fuel pressure, spark, etc.), and then I did a compression test, and as I guessed, bad compression. Probably had a chain jump time.
Went home, chatted with mom a bit. New phone working relatively decently. Annoying issues of loss of functionality with “upgrades.” I really don’t understand why upgrades so frequently make things harder to get to (take longer, more clicks, etc.).
A little after 2… time for bed. Need more water. Gonna go get a drink and then head to bed.
Hope y’all had a beautiful day. I’m doing better at not doing some of the things that drag me down.
Loves and hugs.

P.s. please forgive the huge letters. WordPress is screwed up right now, and they’re trying to figure out what’s wrong with their site. I was lucky to get what I have up at all. Took an hour after I was finished riding just to figure out how to get past all their broken website to get it posted. Ugh.
