The sun did indeed cook me early. π
Gratefully, there were a couple of trees in the parking lot in a spot that provided shade sufficient for perhaps another hour of sleep, so I crawled out of my van, said hello to a couple of sister missionaries that were walking into the building, swapped spots, and crawled back into bed. π
I don’t remember what time I wandered into church (I think maybe around 10:00 ish?), but I got up, got dressed, and headed inside.
I was actually hoping to meet someone there in Quitman, but I didn’t have an appointment, nor did they know me π . I was hoping someone at the church might know the person I was hoping to meet up with.
After attending the sacrament meeting for the first unit, the bishop connected me with someone he thought might know the person I was trying to connect with, but that turned out to be a no go, so I headed back to the church and attended the second unit’s meetings as well, still hoping to find someone who knew the person I was trying to connect with.
Once again, I came up empty. π
So I headed out to see if I could connect with the person on my own, aaaaaand success! π₯³
She and I talked for, gosh, an hour and a half? It was a great little visit. π
I made one more stop after visiting her that… didn’t go as well π , but it was what it was.
Texted a bit with the mom of a friend of mine and then decided to take a different route home, heading toward Fort Smith instead of back through the country roads of middle Arkansas.
On my way back, I stopped off at the grave site of Parley P. Pratt. I’d been there once before years ago, I think, but it was cool to go again.
Snapped some pictures…

…and decided to call it a night near Fort Smith, so I could stop off at junkyards in the morning to see if I could find the bracket that I needed for my work van.
Gratefully, there was a truck stop just a little down the road from the memorial site, so I pulled in, parked, and called it a night. π€
Lift the world.
Bring it on.
