Took it a bit slower today again. Three jobs and a job interview. Tentatively hired a new mechanic, a young kid fairly recently out of school, I believe. I’ll try him out starting Monday, and we’ll see how it goes. If it works well, then I’ll do a marketing push in the Fayetteville/Springdale area to try to get him as busy as possible so he can cover the south.
Then I’ll find someone to cover the north. Then I’ll hire someone to run the business, and then… I’ll sell or be a fairly silent owner. That’s the goal, anyway. We’ll see.
Perhaps it’ll be wishful thinking, but we’ll try.
Drove my GMC Terrain home from the shop today, and it seemed to do fine. Lots and lots of work done on it–timing chain and guides, balance chain and guides, cam sprockets, tensioner, water pump, vvt solenoids, valve cover gasket, timing gasket, o2 sensor… lots and lots of stuff.
Forgot it had some weird AC/Climate issues, so that’ll need to be addressed, and it’ll need some o3 treatments again, as the smoke smell has come back, but… it’s a heck of a lot closer to being sold, and it’s drivable again, so if people need to borrow cars (I think I’ve become known on the hill as the one with cars to borrow. 🙃 I guess that’s
