2026-05-24 (Sunday) — Bring On The Spirit 🙏

(Written on May 31st from notes taken previously)

I was up early again, but I think I slept a little longer overall?

Spent some time working on my dailies and then headed over to take my bath at JH Keith Park.

The water is just cold enough to not want to go in, but also warm enough that within probably four seconds of being in the water, I’m already used to it.

Just have to brave those for seconds. 🙃

Headed over to church, got myself changed inside my van and then headed in. I don’t really remember much from sacrament meeting or from Sunday school today, but I do remember feeling guided by the Spirit while offering the closing prayer in Elders Quorum.

I miss that experience, that closeness with the Spirit, that connection and pure flow of inspiration.

I long for that feeling to be as common for me as it once was.

I think I’m getting there, bit by bit. 🙏

After church, I met with my branch president. As most of you know, if you’ve been following along with my life for the last good long time, the last few months of 2025 and up until about the time I left New Zealand, it’s been really rough for me. I haven’t lived my life in accordance with my own personal values, and that has been a significant contributor to my struggles.

I went in and talked to my Branch president about where I’m at, and we had a great conversation. Really great guy. 😊

After meeting with him, I played around on the piano for just a little while. I miss playing the piano. I miss creating music. My soul has always been full of music, but I’ve not given almost any time at all in the last… gosh… nearly 20 years?

Wow.

Back at the ranch, I chatted with my sister Rebecca for a good little while while organizing my van, catching up on what’s going on in her life and the lives of her kids. 🤍

The fairy lights I ordered came, and it’ll be nice to get those strung up in preparation for the upcoming Great Eastern Road Trip with my mom.

After chatting with Rebecca, I let the horses out to do a little natural mowing, working on my journal a bit as they chomped away. 😊

(to my great surprise, loves munching on thistles. 😶 And the one he’s munching on in this picture, ain’t your garden variety thistle. It’s death on a leaf. I honestly don’t know how he munches on those things without shredding the inside of his mouth! 😆)

Curly was hanging out with the horses. Funny little rabbit. 😊

I haven’t spent a lot of time observing rabbit behavior, but Curly certainly breaks the mold of anything I’ve ever seen with a rabbit. 😆

Heather and Hans’s friend Ingrid stopped by, riding up on her horse, which was pretty cool. We all chatted for a little while. Good stuff. 😊

Her horse was super gooey (lovey dovey), to steal a phrase from Heather, which is nice. 😊

After a good long chat, Ingrid left right around sundown, and the rest of us ate dinner and hung out together before finally crashing for the night.

At the risk of a little bit TMI… little John has been quite stinky. 🤔 All last summer, as long as the lid was closed, the stink was only there while the lid was open and then dissipated quickly once closed, and it wasn’t really that bad of a stink.

For whatever reason, there’s still not much of a stink with the lid closed, but with it open, holy. moly. 😶

And then with the lid closed, the stench lingers.

And lingers… 😅

😷

Not sure what the deal is. Maybe it’s that part of its life was in Arkansas, and it’s been like 2 weeks since it’s been emptied? 😅

It’ll be nice tomorrow when I can empty him out and then maybe air him out as well. 😆

Yep, you just read that.

😶

😆

Lift the world.

Bring it on.
