(written on the 16th)
I was up a bit later again this morning. Apparently, my body has decided to shift from being unable to sleep in, waking up generally between 5:00 and 6ish, to sleeping until around 8:00. π
I’m definitely not complaining. π
Although I would like to start getting to bed a bit earlier, as I’m probably averaging well after midnight.
I made a little bit of progress today on my book, and I do mean a very little bit of progress, but at least it’s something. π Gratefully, I felt like I got direct confirmation from the Big Guy on one of the ideas that popped in, and that’s more valuable to me than anything. π
I’ll keep plugging away.
I tried to do a little bit of question answering online, but there wasn’t much of anything, and what I did have took a lot of effort for what I got from it.
I let myself get rather frustrated with Identifix, because I had a customer waiting for basic information, such as whether or not the vehicle used a dedicated TCM or a PCM, where that was, and where the transmission control relay was.
I guess I can’t really blame identifix, because apparently it’s Kia that’s the problem. Back in the early 2000s, they didn’t provide almost anything in the way of data.
So I probably looked like, and definitely felt like an idiot. My customer sitting there just… waiting. And then I’d find the information, and give it to him, and it was wrong. The images provided by Kia weren’t correct. πΆ
Really?!?!
I wouldn’t be surprised if I spent an hour plus just trying to find out basic information like type and location of components, and in the end, I still don’t know if what I gave the customer is correct. πΆ
I’m still waiting to hear back.
Gratefully, the customer has been super understanding about it, but it’s going to be a miracle if I get anything other than a poor rating.
I’ve got to remind myself to stop accepting chat questions and to only do phone calls.
The chat questions just seemed to go on forever and ever and ever. Yes, I get really long phone calls too, but proportionally, the chat conversations are the worst.
Oh well. I want as many opportunities as I can to practice patience and trust in the Lord. π
If it’s hard, if it stretches me, it’s good for me.
So… bring it on, Lord.
I spent most of the rest of the day working on the foundation/french drain drainage trench, widening it after learning that it needed to be a few inches wider than it was and then working again on getting the slope just right.
Takes a good little while when you’re perfectionist like me. π
But I’m getting there.
My the branch president asked if I’d be willing to speak this coming Sunday, so I’ve got that on the docket now, and he encouraged me to go to the temple. π₯°
Don’t need to tell me twice. π
So after working on the trench until well after the sun went down, and then chatting with my sister a little bit, I headed over to JH Keith for a bath (some people enjoying themselves blasting ZZ Top from over by the gazebo while I bathed in the riverπ§βπ€).
For the drive, in an effort to stop using my phone while driving, I downloaded the New Testament audio and listened to I think Matthew, Mark, Luke, and part of John, before crashing for the night just before Douglas.
Definitely needed to crash, as I was starting to fall asleep while driving. π
Kind of fun to think that I might be able to make it through the entire New Testament on my Temple trip!
Grateful to be going to the temple again. I’m just a week removed from a relapse, but I’m feeling really good, back on track, living in light again, and that’s… wonderful. π Last week’s crash feels like barely a blipπ€ππ€
Lift the world.
Bring it on.
