Boy, was was dragging this morning. My body, normally swollen after heavy labor like yesterday, had a double dose of it from all the sugar I stuffed into it.
Perhaps if you’re really quiet, you can hear the oompa loompas singing? 😅
I sort of dragged myself around this morning, very intelligently eating ice cream for breakfast, because… well, that’ll help. 😶
Sometimes I don’t adult very well. 😆
Tried to watch South Dakota church over the zoom link (as I just wasn’t feeling up to going feeling the way I was), but they had an issue with the feed that they didn’t get fixed until after the first person had already shared their message.
Oh well.
I chatted with my mom for a little bit, veged for a bit, and then actually took a nap on my mom’s living room floor. 🤯
Taking a nap turned out to be fabulous for me. I wasn’t doing very well before, both physically, emotionally, and spiritually, but I woke up feeling a lot better. 🙏
Amazing how much decent rest can do. 🙃
Chatted with my mom for a bit. Helped load up food storage my mom can’t eat anymore into her friend’s car, chatted with my sister about houses and loans and options for my mom and Thomas as they prepare to move again.
We all hate moving. 😅
One of the benefits of having a home on wheels is that I never have to move… even though I’m always moving. 🙃
That said, I have been stuffocated for a good little while, as I’ve yet to finish getting rid of the last hangers on of my possessions that I don’t use (here’s looking at you ammo 😶).
I’ve been tossing around in my brain the idea of buying a house for my mom and Thomas to live in, but I’m just not sure about it. Yes, the area is growing, so yes, it’s likely to be a decent investment. Pea Ridge has nearly doubled in size in the last 6 years, for example.
Still, like so many other places in the country, it’s stupid expensive here compared to what it was pre-covid.
I’ve accepted it at this point, and it’s partially my fault for not having my assets diversified, but it was pretty crappy to have US monetary policy, Federal reserve policy, and unchecked illegal immigration combined together to make the purchasing power of all of my savings about half of what it was prior to the covid pandemic.
🐿️
Moving on… it was another brutally hot today–104°. 🥵
I’m definitely grateful to be able to be inside an air-conditioned house today. Although, I probably have enjoyed spending quite a bit of time in the creek on Haven Hill as well. 🙃
I don’t know how I survived the summer of ’24 living in my van down by the creek. 😶
Well, I did spend a lot of time in the creek. 🙃 But I don’t remember it being this bad. Or has my body so quickly acclimatized back to western dry climate, that my it doesn’t know what to do with itself here? Or is it just that much hotter? I honestly don’t remember it getting this hot for this long of a time when I was here before. When I think of Summer in Arkansas, I think of mid to high ’80s and humid, with occasional jumps into the ’90s… but triple digits? that wasn’t really a thing was it?
🤷
Let’s ask the artificials…
…
Well, as usual, I can’t trust Gemini, as it lists Pea Ridge as only having one day above 100 the entire year this year, and we’ve had several just in the last 3 weeks.
…
Well, that was a monumental waste of time. 😅
I probably spent 30 minutes trying to figure that out how many days have been in the ’90s and how many days in the hundreds per year since I first moved to Arkansas to the present day.
Really wish the big AIs were programmed differently. Seems like an odd approach to have that a wrong answer is better than no answer at all, but I guess that’s just one of the limitations of predictive large language models. They’re not actually looking for facts: They’re looking at statistical probabilities to determine which word comes next. 😶
And so many people trust AI for the information they get. 😬
Anyway, I spent some time journaling, trying to catch up, yet again. I’m almost 2 weeks behind. 😞
Ate dinner that my wonderful mother made for us before she went to the airport to pick up Thomas. Once they got back, we all chatted for maybe an hour or two, mostly about current circumstances, having to move again, etc.
Lots to do… lots to figure out in the coming weeks.
Crazy times.
Lift the world.
Bring it on.
