(written on the 2nd and 3rd from notes taken previously)
Got up later today and had one last message from that first reconnection friend wishing me well.
Listened to some uplifting music and chatted with the Big Guy a bit to try and start off the day with some good light. π
Spent a little time in my journal and then texted back and forth a fair bit with my friend Nate who was excited by my excitement for New Zealand. He and his wife are now thinking about going, and he was asking me lots of questions about how to best travel the country. π
Gosh, I love New Zealand. π₯°
I don’t think I’ve talked much about it, but I’ve been planning to do a multi-day water fast, like maybe 5 to 7 days?
π
And I started that fast after lunch today. Here’s hoping I do well. π€
I noticed another prickly pear cactus where it ought not to be and a yucca plant as well, so I took some time and removed both of those.
Checking the dry well pit, I found a mouse inside, so I went down to grab it, planning to transport it over to J.H. Keith Park with what are likely its relatives that I’ve relocated there. π
Amazingly, when I went to grab it, it ran up the side of the pit, including going pure Spider-Man scaling the overhang from where the dirt had sloughed off after getting wet.
Six feet.
It climbed six feet straight up, including going sideways along the ceiling of the dirt overhang.
π²
Still, I managed to grab it without injuring it, and I stuck it in a container in my van out of the Sun, to be ready to drop it off at the Springs Park tonight on my way to Casper for Temple Tuesday tomorrow
I then spent the next couple hours or so uncovering the trench, as I realized the drain pipe was no longer on a steady downward slope. π¬

I think Hans hit the nail on the head when he posited that the dirt underneath the pipe had swollen from all the water and lifted the pipe up in places.
So I dug it out, cleaned up the trench a little bit, and then waited to do any more for Hans to get back.
I also spent a little bit of time mowing the grass between the trailer and the shipping container, so that looks a lot nicer now.
Spend some time working on the pit itself, chatted with a soon-to-be neighbor from California who’s in town for a month as he gets ready to build a house on the property behind us. He just retired from the police force, and he and his wife decided this was the place for them. π
Anyway, the relocation of the little mouse was successful, and I think he had a little bit chew on, as the container I caught him with was a long strand parmesan cheese container that still had little bits of Parmesan cheese left in it.
Free food, free ride to too much greener pastures. The only concern is… w.ho the poor little critter might be leaving behind. Hopefully, it can reunite with the other two mice that I’m guessing are probably relatives that I’ve relocated to the same spot. π€
I spent some time journaling, filled up all my water bottles (did I mention I’m testing the spring water to see if it’s safe to drink? π), managed to get yet another tick.
There are so. many. ticks. here by the springs. πΆ
Incredibly, with this tick, it was yet another that I found crawling on or near me without actually feeling it before it ever got a chance to actually bite me.
Yet another thing to be grateful for. π
I did eventually jump in the water, there at the end after everything else, which probably wasn’t really needed since the sun was pretty much down by the time I got back in the van, but oh well. π
Spend a little bit of time chatting with Corey, and then stopped to sleep for the night before I even got to Douglas. Trying to get more sleep. π
I guess it was a pretty boring day today. π
Lift the world.
Bring it on.
