2026-08-21 (Friday) — Burned Out, Stuffocated

(written on August 22nd)

This is going to be a really short one. πŸ˜…

Been dragging all day. Tired. Overwhelmed. Burned out. Stuffocated.

I was up later again and started helping my mom pack, specifically focusing on bookshelves full of binders and books. I made it through the binders okay, packed a whole grundle of books, and then ran out of steam on the last bookcase full.

There were so many different shapes and sizes of books, in the book box is only 12×12, but I think that 12×12 is the outside diameter. That puts the inside diameter at something like 11 and 3/4, which makes it conveniently a quarter of an inch too small to fit the incredibly common 6×9 book size.

😢

Why would you make book boxes the wrong size to fit one of the most common book sizes on the planet? Maybe it’s like the old joke of hot dogs coming in packages of 10 and buns coming in packages of eight, or whatever it is. 🀷

Either way, with my overwhelmed state of mind, with all the stresses eyes put upon myself of helping everyone out of their challenges, it was enough to burn me out for the rest of the day. πŸ˜•

I just sort of wandered around aimlessly after that, veging out in front of my phone. πŸ˜•

I only stayed inside my mom’s house because it was brutally hot outside yet again, and even though I have the benefit of being able to park in the shade here in Arkansas, it’s still an oven in my van before the Sun goes down, and the temperatures drop.

As overwhelmed and burned out as I was, dedication to my return to my no-junk-food diet weekend significantly, and I hopped in Rover and headed over to the Walmart Neighborhood Market.

Gratefully, while in the store, my sister Heather called, which was perfect timing. And she made a great suggestion that instead of buying ice cream, which was nearly a certainty at that point, that I could buy frozen mango chunks instead to satisfy the sweet, frozen hankering.

So I bought cheese, more sour cream, more tortillas, and a big bag of frozen mango chunks instead of ice cream. πŸ’ͺ

Every time I give in, it’s going to be easier next time, so I’m grateful I didn’t give in tonight.

Thx, Heather! πŸ€πŸ™πŸ€

Headed back home (meaning to my mom’s place), chatted with my mom briefly, and then headed out to my van for the night.

Lift the world.

Bring it on.
