2026-08-24 (Monday) — Bracket Me!

(written on November 1st from notes taken previously)

I wasn’t disturbed last night! πŸ™πŸ₯³πŸ™

Though I didn’t sleep in much, because the landscapers were out talking nearby and mowing. Once I was ready to go, I was a little nervous firing up my mufflerless van (I’m a still a bit self-conscious of it πŸ˜…)

First stop of the day was to the junkyard. It was a bit out of the way, but that didn’t matter to me because it had exactly what I needed! And not only did it have what I needed, the part I needed was actually accessible.

πŸ₯³

Now I can actually finish the conversion back to a gas vehicle. πŸŽ‰

At first, I thought I had also hit the jackpot, because I thought I found some super good tires on rims ready to go. Unfortunately, after rolling the tire all the way across the junkyard, upon closer inspection, I realized it actually wasn’t good. πŸ˜• I think there were two or three tires on rims that at one point or another I thought were good and then realized they weren’t.

Lots of extra wasted time, but at least I’ve got a bracket now!

The drive back was uneventful, and I stopped off to hang out at Miguel’s shop for a while, trying to help him out with vehicles and what not and just hanging out.

I drove over to look at a house that was for sale in Bella Vista, then stopped off at the neighborhood market in Pea Ridge, and then decided to go check out a Toyota Sienna van that was for sale for dirt cheap.

The ad made it sound like maybe it could be a good deal, but when I went to look at it, the people weren’t there. So I looked at it briefly but didn’t feel comfortable looking at it more thoroughly.

After briefly checking out the Sienna, I headed over to Haven Hill and installed my newly-acquired charcoal canister mounting bracket. πŸŽ‰

In my housing searches, I found a townhome for rent on Facebook marketplace that looks like it might be good. The lady who was communicating with me about it suggested that maybe it wasn’t the best fit for Mom since she’s… not 29 anymore πŸ˜…, but I sort of pushed through what felt like multiple efforts to dissuade me of the idea of it being a good fit for my mom and went ahead and scheduled a visit anyway. πŸ™ƒ

Mom and I will visit the town home tomorrow and see what we think.

After getting things taken care of at Haven Hill, I headed back to the farmhouse for the night.

Oh! While at Haven Hill, I noticed something a little odd. Might not show up very well in the picture here, because I think my blog host compresses the pictures, but perhaps you’ll be able to see it anyway.

I talked to AndrΓ©s, and apparently it’s quite normal for the little guy to hang out in there with the chickens.

😢

Lift the world.

Bring it on.
