2020-08-07 — Happy Day

Hola, peeps!

I’ve loved today.

A lot.

It started off a bit crazy. I thought I was going to be running around like a madman. Thought I had more jobs on the docket than I actually did. Then it was raining, so that was complicating things. I sent John down to Fayetteville to do a job, and he got the first one done because it was in a garage, but he got rained out of the second one, so he headed home to wait out the storm.

After that, he was able to do five more cars, so that was good.

I did the one Fayetteville job that he was rained out of, driving all the way down there, spending a long time waiting there, and then not being able to do much because the parts weren’t going to be available for a while, and I managed to play with some poison ivy again.

Yeah.

I know.

Ugh.

I was at a restaurant parking lot! Why on earth do they let poison ivy grow all over their trees!?!?! I didn’t even think about it until I noticed some vines growing up the trees, and realized that I think I’d been breaking off little pieces of poison ivy vine and breaking them up into little pieces (fiddling).

As a friend of mine mentioned today, I probably better stop messing with the plant life around me without double checking everything I’m touching. Ugh. Not one of Arkansas’ best attractions.

So far, I don’t feel any break outs, which hopefully means I didn’t get any oils on the super soft and tender skin. I won’t know for a few more days if I managed to get it elsewhere.

(sigh)

Oh, hey, John started using his massive work truck today. Hopefully, it’ll do well for him. It’s gonna be a beast on gas, though. It’s a huge F600 medium duty truck.

Anyway, so I came straight home, showered, and tried to wipe up any poison ivy residue that might be around. Cross your fingers.

What else… let’s see, driveway is indeed clean. Spent some time attacking the weeds in the garden. It’s massively overgrown. It’s… awful. But I have some ideas for how to stop it from coming back. We’ll see. I’m gonna weed it all (again), and then work on prevention. We’ll see how I do.

Since I’ve been picking up after myself, the five minutes a day is really making a big difference, slowly over time here. I ran out of things to clean in the house during my five minutes, so now I’m organizing and sorting things, making more space, getting rid of useless things.

Still a long ways to go with my room, though, and a long ways to go in the garage. 🙃

What else… so… as with most days, the highlight of my day is talking to friends and family. Had some good chats with my mom and also with a friend from Utah, chatting with the latter on and off pretty much all day. Good stuff. Makes me happy.

Eek! I need to get to bed. Just rolled over midnight!

Okay… cutting journal short.

#1. I’m grateful that… so far at least… I’m poison ivy free.

#2. I’m grateful for things going better today than they looked like they were going to at the start.

#3. I’m grateful that I was in a place to rescue John. His new work truck had some bad gas/water in the tank, so I had to rescue him, running some gas down to him to fill the tank with to dilute the stuff.

#4. I’m grateful for answers to prayers and direction from God.

#5. I’m grateful, at least for today, to be looking forward to the future, and to not be afraid of it.

To be better…

#1. So… I’m not keeping my curfew very well. Need to work on that.

#2. Did I mention I’m not keeping my curfew well?

#3. I need to buy a greater variety of food. And a non-stick pan for my eggs. Takes soooooo long to clean the egg residue off the bottom. I don’t cook eggs because of it.

Well, my lovelies. It’s been a great day. Of course. Loves and hugs to all y’all.

Lift the World.
