I don’t know if I’ve mentioned it, but in addition to the motorhome that dragged out for so long, I also had a Land Rover that was dragging out for quite a long time as well.
Good news! That one’s done now, too! That’s two in two days now!
Granted it’s 10:02 p.m. and I’m still sitting in the driver’s seat of the land Rover, but it’s *done*! I’ve just verified the new thermostat is working properly, the system is properly bled, and I’m just gonna give it a few more minutes before I clean up and head home. Wahoo!!!
I’m also warming up. The toes are cold. The L4 base layer is doing a great job of keeping me warm enough, but the shoes and socks… Pitiful.
Of course, I’m wearing summer socks right now, so that’s my own fault, and these poor shoes… My friend Chase gave them to me a year ago because they were worn out, and now… now they’re really worn out. 🙃
But, oh, it’s so nice to get those eternal cars done. Soooooooo nice.
Other than that, time for some gratitude.
#1. I got up a little earlier today–6:30. I couldn’t fall asleep last night (I’m thinking because of the steroid they have me taking, as that’s one of the side effects). But I’m grateful I was able to meditate last night and get myself to fall asleep and then wake up at least a little earlier today than I have (it’s been mostly pretty much 7 a.m. for a little while now.
#2. I’m grateful I was able to talk the van person down to $450 today! He was firm at $700, then he dropped it to $630, and I offered $450. At that price, it’s almost no risk at all! 🙂 2002 Cord E350 5.4 club wagon with 201k miles. Starts with starting fluid but won’t run otherwise. It’s beat up. Have to figure out how to get it home, but I bought the van today. Wahoo! Maybe I can now get my mother’s poor cat back. 😁 Cross your fingers that it’s only a fuel pump problem. That would be lovely. I’ll cut a hole in the floor above the fuel pump and be on my way.
#3. I’m grateful I was able to get a fender for my Civic today. It’s not exactly the right color, but it’s one of the three gray colors the civics came in that year, and it’ll look a lot better than the mangled one that was on it. Best of all, I had old store credit they didn’t give me any grief over, so that paid for it, and I still have another $55 or so in credit. Yes haw!
#4. I’m grateful that though I haven’t really had much of anything to eat today, and though I’m a bit dehydrated, I’m not over the edge yet. I do need to go home and eat and drink, but I’m doing relatively okay.
#5. I’m grateful to be done with a long day. I’m grateful to be able to take tomorrow off and relax.
Well, folks. Thanks, for hangin’ with me as I bust out this life, one day at a time.
