2026-06-11 (Thursday) — Temple Thursday

I got up a bit later than I normally do on Temple mornings, I think it was somewhere around 8:15 or 8:30ish? 🙃

🙏

Turned on my uplifting music, spent some time washing the collar of my white shirt because it was… much dirtier than the rest of the shirt 🙃, and then got my hair wet because it was an unruly, bed-head mess.

Been a long time since my hair has been this long. It won’t be too long before I look like a blonde Lord Farquaad. 😆

Gratefully, I made it to the temple with plenty of time,  got dressed in my church clothes, brushed my teeth, and headed into the temple.

I love the temple. 😊

🤍

Today I participated in an endowment session, which was lovely, and then spent only a little while in the celestial room, because I had an appointment in the baptistry immediately following the endowment session, and the session had started late (waiting for a brother who was running late).

After a brief period enjoying the celestial room, I quickly changed and headed over to the baptistry.

My favorite. 🙃

The temple president, whom I had just seen at stake conference, was conducting the little chat they always do prior to our participating in proxy baptisms.

That was beautiful, and it was wonderful to be able to be back serving in the baptistry. One lady, who was actually in the endowment session with me, had 15 people she was being baptized for, and I was privileged to be able to be the person to perform the baptisms.

I just love it. 😊

As I left the temple, an older lady with a walker flagged me down and asked me to help her get her walker in her car.

Really nice lady. 😊 Really cool walker. 😎

From the temple, it was over to Walmart. I hadn’t planned on doing a lot of shopping, but I ended up buying a bunch of stuff, though I decided against the dress shoes when the cheapest shoes were $35 bucks.

I still feel like they should be 15. 😅

Like at the temple, as I was writing something out on my phone while standing in the frozen fruit aisle, I noticed an older lady driving one of the handicap carts having trouble with getting what she was hoping to get from behind the glass doors, so I walked over and helped her a little bit. She was looking for a large bag of frozen peach slices, but they only came in small bags. 😕

I told her about grocery pickup which allowed her to not have to leave her vehicle if she didn’t want to, but she said she liked getting out, and liked picking out her own stuff.

From Walmart, I got gas and then headed over to Home Depot to try to figure out how to string my fairy lights in my van and also to potentially buy some paint to paint the inside of the fiberglass to make it a little brighter and nicer looking for the road trip (it was a lot nicer looking before when it had the headliner, sideliner, TV cabinet, and dedicated LED lights, but it definitely wasn’t as functional. There’s a lot more room now 🙃)

I ended up buying a roller pad to paint with and a tube of adhesive. I’ll order the paint online, I think (they didn’t have any in the store), or maybe I’ll get it when I’m in Utah next week.

We’ll see.

My drive back to South Dakota was actually fairly productive. 😊

I just did a lot of thinking, but I actually was able to think and managed to pry some ideas for my education book out of my brain (with a little help from above, I imagine).

I’m grateful to have thoughts coming to my mind now and that arena. I’m really hoping to make some good progress soon.

I drove by the triplex that I’ve toyed with buying in Lusk and noticed that they still haven’t replaced the roof. I reached out to the agent, and the agent said it’s probably going to be a couple more weeks before the roof gets replaced.

I’m still mostly just toying with the idea of buying it, but it is intriguing.

Once back in South Dakota, I stopped off at JK Keith Park and focused on catching up on my journaling. I don’t want to get significantly behind again. Gratefully, I was able to get yesterday’s entry written and take notes on today, and now here I am almost done with today’s, and it’s day of. 🙏

As an aside, I don’t know what the deal is, but my lungs are filling up with fluid. 😶

I don’t understand. I’m not sick. I’m not having any trouble breathing… yet? 😅

One more thing. 😆

Bring it on.

As I was getting ready to leave the park, I said hello to an older lady who had pulled up while I was by the soaking pools. I ended up chatting with her for probably the next 30 minutes. Cool Italian lady from Pittsburgh. She used to teach at a university in Utah like I did. 😊

Hans was just leaving to run an errand as I was driving on the road toward home. Before getting back to the ranch, I stopped off to check some things for one of our neighbors and then finally pulled in for the day.

I broke my apple core into multiple pieces to give to the horses, something they always appreciate. I caught up with Zorra, and had plans to take the horses out for lunch but just decided to start preparing their noms instead.

Heather got back from running errands, and we all chatted a bit. Hans had to run out one more time to run one last errand late, and then I called it a night.

Sorry for a boring read tonight. 😅

G’night, y’all. 🩵

Lift the world.

Bring it on.
