2026-06-12 (Friday) — Duplicates… Done.

I was up early this morning, 6 something, I think. Got my uplifting music on and then listened to several sections of the Doctrine and Covenants.

Tried to take River out to munch, but I think he has a thing with white objects, and seeing my white gloves, he didn’t want anything to do with me.

So I took Fiona instead. I let her munch for a good long time, pulling weeds and feeding them to River as Fiona munched.

After Fiona had munched for maybe 45 minutes, I tried River again, but nope. He wasn’t having any of it.

I suppose I could take the white gloves off, but I think I’m gonna try and help him get over that fear. He’s gotten over the fear of my sun hat with the face covering, so it could happen. 🙃

Most of the rest of the day was spent on my file-sorting project. At one point I had, gosh… I don’t remember how many duplicate files I had… 10,000 ish?

I’m now down to something like 60, and I’m gonna leave those duplicates, because there are some files I want in multiple folders, so… from here on out (excluding the duplicate files I’ll still run into that actually have different names), is just organizing and taking stock of what I have where and then backing up everything.

I was so focused that I didn’t eat breakfast. Or lunch. 🙃

Today’s poo drag was a little more challenging. It seemed as though the horses had a little competition to see how close to the fences they could leave their poo presents. 😒

Makes it challenging to drag, because the dragger (a “chain” harrow used upside down) is only about as wide as the four wheeler, actually maybe a little narrower, so in order to get the fence poo, I often need to make sharp turns a little before, so the dragger slides further and pulverizes the poo.

Riveting, I know. 🙃

I finally ate a little bit of “breakfast” sometime after three, file sorting for pretty much the entire time otherwise.

I don’t like feeling like I’m not getting stuff done, and that’s how I feel spending so much time with this file-sorting project, but I do want to make sure I know what I have and what I don’t have, where it all is, and that I’ve got backup procedures in nailed down.

Sometime probably about 4:30, I headed outside and started working on the trench for the foundation drain pipe, clearing the loose dirt out of the bottom.

After talking to Hans about it, I did one more pass to get all the loose dirt out to see where the actual bottom was, so we know where the pipe could settle to.

While out there, I discovered that Curly is making a new nest underneath a wheelbarrow that’s turned over on the leftovers of the sand pile, so we might be getting even more bunnies soon. 🙃

Once Heather and Hans were home, we talked cisterns and cistern layout and whatnot. It’s looking potentially positive with a sizable low-profile tank that’s apparently a lot cheaper than I’ve seen elsewhere.

After noodling on cistern stuff, we Hans treated us to some local noodles (Hot Springs’ Chinese buffet). Reviews were mixed, and we apparently made it on a not-as-good day. 😅 There were very few choices and not much variety in the choices that were there, but it filled the belly and was mostly decent.

Some of the menu options I think might have been leftovers. 😅

Small town. 🙃

After feeding the horses, we went back in the trailer and hung out, I back working on my files project. We also listened to the Elder Rowe talk from Conference.

Good stuff.

I missed the SpaceX IPO. I felt like it was going to be a smart buy, but I didn’t transfer money to my trading account, getting caught a little off guard.

My gut was correct. I would have made a boatload had I been prepared.

Oh well.

Let myself get sucked into mindless veging for the first time in a while, skipping writing in my journal and not shutting my phone off until after 2:30. 😬

That’s… not good for me. Not good at all.

Lift the world.

Bring it on.
